Scout's Eye: a lot to like about this offense

The offense is going to depend on Dak, Cooper, Gallup, Cobb and Austin (assuming the OL stays healthy). But it starts with Dak. Whether Smith or Wilson makes the team is kind of inconsequential. If its not clear which one is better then it doesn't really matter which one stays or goes. At the same time, they both look like good players so its good to see the Cowboys took a WR squad that was weak and made it into a strength for the team. It shows the front office is getting better.

I'm not saying that we should change our identity from a run first offense but with the talent that we have in the passing game Kellen Moore should have defenses:huh:

I smell a Superbowl:flagwave:

BB likes it. Oh well then it must be awesome. A quality starting QB, solid OL, quality skill players, who doesn't like this offense.

i'm looking forward to new and improve changes such as:

1 – new Kellen moore approach: pre-snap motion/various formations and designs- no predictable tendencies, more vertical push in pass game

2 – development of Gallup; may not the fastest or smoothest RAC athlete but he’s gonna be a gamer

3 - addition of a playmaking backup in pollard to compliment zeke

4 – improving the red zone issues

5 - how Kellen counters and make in-game adjustments vs defensive game plans and in- game schemes (ala overload, zone blitzes, 3-man fronts )

Why can't both Smith and Wilson make the team? In any case, I agree with you for the most part, although I don't really think Austin will be that big a factor. I think what we get from the TE position will be a bigger factor than Austin.

I'd consider it a real shame if either Cedrick Wilson or Devin Smith fail to be chosen to make the active roster. Both have outstanding abilities to get open, adjust to the ball and make the catch. They will be dynamic contributors to the special teams, as well.

This season's offense should become a consistent threat with both of them available to cause havoc for defenses. I'm really looking forward to seeing both contribute some generous gains when called upon in the future. With those two available, the WR corps will prosper.

Imagine if we had prime Dez in this offense. Looks like we finally have a playcaller that knows how to scheme guys open.

just my guess work, I think the Seattle playoff game with Tavon's two huge punt returns (one of them a TD negated by penalty) cemented how much the staff values his return ability.
and I know staff wants to help the special teams unit as much as they can.
That's another reason why I think we keep hearing how much they so value noah brown's special teams contribution there too.
and I think Kellen Moore values speed and chunk yards in his offense and may think Austin has adds to that in certain packages there too. Just my guess.

I don't think Brown is a lock the way some people do, and if that's the case there would be room for Austin, Smith and Wilson.
