Honest question.......when the last time we gave up on a first round pick with basically three years left on a rookie deal.
It has never happened in the Jerry era.

Even Bobby Carpenter and Shante Carver were on the team for 4 years.

Bottom line for me.......unless some team is offering a min 2nd rounder, I'm not biting. Waaay to early to give up on him for a mid-rounder or less.

I understand but you’re not being realistic or considering the opportunity cost that goes with keeping Taco. That being having to cut Jelks because there is no room for him. The 1st they spent on Taco no longer matters. What matters is what’s best for the team. So what would you rather have Taco for a few more years or a 4th or 5th round pick and Jelks for at least the next 4 years. I’m taking the later in a second. I’m glad Taco looked good the other night. That’s the only thing making him tradable at all.

Exactly......hell that's like a car dealer offering only $2000K for my trade-in car I know is worth $5000K retail. I'll keep it rather than just giving it away.

Exactly. That's why this is odd to me to even suggest this. You win trades based on desperation. The Sam Bradford deal......the Amari Cooper(though it ended up working out for us).....desperate teams are how and why guys get good value. I don't see anyone desperate for Taco. And I'm not one of these guys that have written him off we just have to be realistic about what he has shown on that football field and it isn't much.

The passing defense was actually worse than 2017 just saying. Look it up. Not sold on richard with JLew on the bench.

That would have to depend on what you're ranking. They went from 26th in TD passes allowed in 2017 to 8th in 2018. What stat are you going by?

Richard will be a head coach by next season. I thought this season was too early for him to get a head coaching job so I saw him staying but he's not staying another year with all of the head coaching vacancies that are about to show up.

On the bright side, maybe he'll be in line for this one next year?

You have to look at everything as a total package. Don't be so close minded. We drafted a RB 4th overall because why? Jerry told you himself was to keep the defense off the field. The defense doesn't see the amount of snaps most teams face because we play ball control offense. A good defense generates turnovers and pressures the QB. Hate to break it to you that we were near the bottom of the league in pressure % and turnovers. Last season we were bottom 10 at getting a stop on 3rd downs. Those analytics directly relate to win %. Total yards is such a lazy stat in 2019.

Shhh.....
Don’t try to bring up facts, please

That's a good point. They give them every opportunity in the world to do something.

Jelks just stands out as a talent as a pure pass rusher.

If they cut him he'll never see our practice squad.
He will. Now he may get taken off practice squad but this is the thing about these guys.......nobody thought much of him to even draft him before the 7th round. Nobody thinks enough of him to trade for him. I think you guys put too much stock into poaching of practice squad guys. Every team has a Jelks on it. All of these teams are trying to stash guys on practice squad.

First off, I am not close minded, you just can't help yourself with those idiotic comments can you.
Is not ball control the 1st thing teams want. Except Chip Kelly and we see how that worked out for him.

I do agree, yes this team lacks turnovers and as you did not need to break that to me. And the pressures could be, and they will be better. Since this DL looks to be greatly improved. Well on paper it does. But still this defense improved every year under him, in your lame total yards stats.

But lower yards per game still has a lot to do with winning as well.

Right. So if all she is doing is feeding bad information Jerry is feeding her than how much value does she have?

Her "value" is to report what she's told directly by either camp. That's what reporters do.

And we have no proof that Dak didn't ask for that. They know Mahomes is probably going to get upwards of $60 million per year, and they're trying to anticipate that market. That's why Dak seems in no hurry in my opinion.

It doesn't. If a team an offense averages 2 less drives per game against your defense due to ball control offense. Even if they had good drives during the game it would even out to less yards. Like I said total yards is a lazy stat and doesn't tell you anything about how good or bad a defense is.

Yeah and he may be our HC.
