I left them after I think like 20 years,. They are the slimeballs of the business world. Charging me more each month, and them tried to charge me to send equipment that had stop functioning. They found every way in the world to add fees. Att had lost so many customers so ce buying directtv that it made national news. But att won't learn to stoprapi g their customers and stop lying on the phone to them. Glad I left them
Not to stick up for Directv but your anger is misguided. Directv loses money every quarter. The problem is not your cable provider. The problem is the networks. Cable companies lose money on each Cable subscriber do to horrible retrans fees. You would be shocked if I shared the real numbers with you. The networks get away with it because they know the public blames the cable company for the high bills when in fact almost all video service revenue passes through your cable company and ends in the hands of the networks. The equipment is the only profit center for from the video space. Cable companies don't care if you cut the cord. Go ahead. They make their profits from internet subscribers anyway. The fees are much lower. Not 0 like some think. But much lower.

I finally decided to dump Directv after 15 years. Ever since they went to AT&T, their service has gotten worse and the prices just as bad. Just decided to go with Sling for now, but thinking about Fubo, but I think it is more expensive. Maybe even PSVue. Suggestions?

Now in order to watch the few Cowboys games that are not nationally televised, has anyone had any experience with the stand-alone Sunday Ticket--via say, Amazon Firestick?
YouTube TV is hands down the best. Also consider Showbox for your movies and TV shows that are not on which ever service you decide to go with.

easy to use
watch out for ads on adjacent pages etc.
Virus central unfortunately.

Anyone who wants to use this reddit stream should either do it on an ipad or run their pc in a sandbox. Look up sandboxie free. It protects you from malware and viruses when you are watching these streams.....and most adult content.....stop acting like you don't watch it....

google reddit nfl stream

This. The streams there, for me, have been extremely reliable and very good quality for a free hosting site. Plus, it works on multiple devices. I've had success on my PC, phone, Xbox, etc. Sure, it's not as easy as just grabbing your remote and flipping to a channel, but, it's freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!! :D

I was reading now that long ago that satellite TV is the fastest dying industry right now. The prices are just ridiculous. My buddy just dumped his as well and he was paying something like $150/month. Insane for television.

I am of the understanding you don't need DTV for the Ticket. Just curious how anyone that has it feels about it.

Used to be able to have DTV for $8.95 a month, as I did that for years. Got ST and pay per view movies only.
They stopped doing that right before ATT bought them. In order to get ST, you needed a minimum $29.95 per month package. That was what I was told in 2013. The lady was so rude and insulting, and did not tell me that, so I cancelled it, and went to ATT U-verse. Then of course they bought out DTV.

All she had to do was tell me that to begin with but she went to the insults saying how stupid it was to switch over.

The only other way is if you live where you can't have a dish installed, they will give you an internet connection only service, or used to. Not sure if that is the case now. As that was back around 2012.

I've read the numbers,. They weren't losingoney on me. I was getting charged 140 plus other fees they were sneaking in for the second up package, almost base level. I put up my own dish that I paid for, ran my own cables, bought my boxes. And they talk to U like crap on the phone. The new satellite TV service at best buy provides the same package I had with only fox news missing for 40/ month. They are making money at that price! Att lost like 500 K subscribers in the first couple months after they took over. Their service hours were shortened big time too.

You can connect rabbit ears to a modern TV?
yes I use it for emergency over the air digital tv , its full HDTV, downside is no DVR .. thats why im still connected and wish there were an easy way to cut the cord but I like recording or watching even games from a little behind to fast forward through breaks and commercials..i hate commercials..

On the DTV thing had it for 10yrs long before they were purchased BY att AN THEY WERE THE BEST BUT THE MOST EXPENSIVE.. I dropped them for Uverse Bundles and I have to fight ATT to get my bills correct but always getign a deal..

right now I have the TV, Internet, and phone bundle for 129.99 plus tax a month its around 160 for all 3..thats not bad considering I need internet and the hone is for my security monitoring etc..

Not sure how I can get it much cheaper cutting the cord outside the bundle the internet most likely 60 or so getting internet based security raises my bill about 10 a month and what that laves 90 for apps which id have to use 3 to make u for all the channels I need or want..

I had Directv on and off. They are pretty good but after a couple years the prices get high. Its the same with most of these services so I called Verizon Fios and negotiated a fixed rate and it lasted two years and they have risen to the point I would like to dump them. Only problem is they are my high speed internet and they will screw me over if I dump the TV and keep the internet. Im so fed up with the games these companys play. Fios is an excellent picture and really fast internet but the customer service sucks. If it wasnt for the kids and wife I would get rabbit ears and stream everything else.

Youtube TV is good ( but no NFLN as of today). I’d rank PSVue behind them.

I'm the same way. I almost never watch a Cowboy game live anymore. I usually let it get about 30 minutes ahead before I start watching the recording.

I use YouTube TV currently and love it. However, if you just want it for NFL games, get a VPN and use streams from /r/NFL streams.

I've also used Kofi on a Fire stick pretty successfully, but you'll want a VPN for that too so it's not region locked.

You can stream any game, movie, or show online for free. You’re wasting money paying for a provider.
