I’m hoping it’s a 5 year deal which is front loaded so we can squeeze the juice left out of his legs and move on

These agents have players holding out after 3 of a 4 year rookie deal when they have been paid in advance. Yeah Elliot is only making around 4 million this year but he was paid 16 million up front (this same agent negotiated this) so it’s 4 million each year paid in advance in bonus. So he is making closer to 8 million this year. Did he out perform the money, yes. But he signs the deal and took the money. He has had several off field issues and been suspended. Yet he is getting paid gurly money. Ok.. How does other players (and there agents) that out perform there rookie deals looking at this now. LVE..

Another agent has a player holding off a surgery as leverage to get paid. He has had injuries that kept him from games and been suspended.

Things are changing. I am just going to enjoy the games and root for our team bro.. Lol.

all you can really do, if you want to keep your sanity, that is......

Once Jerry caves in, any important team cowboy will hold out every 3 years ; regardless of signed contract period.

No, actually I wouldn't do what Zeke is doing. To me, that's unethical (he's got two years left on his contract, plus what he's doing will hurt the chances of the team winning over the next few years as they will have less room under the salary cap). I want to honor my commitments, and I want to win. Actually, reverse that order - I WANT TO WIN! And honor my commitments.

If I made $8 Million per year I wouldn't complain about a thing. Unless the team wasn't putting those savings back into the roster. But the Cowboys do put that money back into the roster.

Teams dont honor their commitment, look no further than Allan Hurns. This is a cutthroat business, look no further than Aaron Donald and Mack last year, two of best in the game and they had to hold out to get paid. The only position that doesnt have to withhold services is qb

Stephen needs to start thinking that Zeke will hold out every 3 years, regardless of contract .

Zeke's gonna bank!!! Lol!!! Sorry buddy.....
Oh, I know he will. I’ll cheer for him during the games but I won’t let up on my opinions of his personal character no matter how good he is and I’ll be even more critical the minute he screws up. You want to be paid the highest, better start playing like it in every aspect of the game, not just total rushing yards.

6 fumbles isn’t going to cut it. 6 TD’s isn’t going to cut it. Better have more 20+ yard runs. Better have more yards from line of scrimmage, more broken tackles. We don’t need to pay a guy top dollar to get a few “dirty yards”. CJ Anderson could have done that for a quarter of the price and maybe Ajayi could still do it.

Lol, who cares where they drafted him? That was their mistake. How many other teams in the past 25 years needed a leading rusher to win the Super Bowl? Answer is 1. Zeke probably knows this which is exactly why he’s being an entitled brat, he knows he’s expendable but is calling Jerry’s bluff and will win.

Every other Super Bowl winning team has managed to get by without the highest paid RB in the league but for some reason people think we we can’t and Jerry trading Zeke would mean Jerry would be admitting he was wrong for drafting him which is a large reason I always thought this would get done.

The Rams didn’t skip a beat with Gurley down, they used a guy that had been cut by two other teams and was sitting on the couch to get to the Super Bowl. The Eagles did it with Ajayi. The Pats do it every year but they’re in a league of their own. The Giants did it with RB by committee (Jacobs and Bradshaw). The Saints have a 3rd rounder? Its been proven time and time again you don’t need a top RB to win. Not to mention all the off the field baggage this guy carries.

Again you can win without a top flight runner if you have an elite qb or/and an elite defense.

WHICH ONE DO WE HAVE?

Teams dont honor their commitment...
As long as the player is playing for the team the team honors that commitment. If a player becomes unproductive, then they shouldn't get paid. Just because you sign a big contract doesn't mean that your effort level can go down. If the player is still contributing to the team the way he's supposed to then he will get paid according to the contract.

Signing bonuses cover the possibility of getting cut later on. No NFL player who signs a big contract will EVER be able to cry poverty. Or even middle class. The players who get to a second contract in the 1%. They're set for life, as are their kids.

This is a TEAM game, not fantasy football. Player stats don't matter in the end, wins and losses do. If the player stats help get wins, great, but racking up big stats in a losing cause is pointless and worthless. Winning is what it's all about, not getting paid a few million more. Players who are more concerned about money than wins are not team players.

None of these players held out and didn't play after 3 years of there rookie contract. Except Donald, he held out his 3rd year but showed up and played his 4th year without a new contract and made way less than Elliot is gonna get paid for his 4th year. It don't matter at this point. Just get it done and over with.

Elite defense. Or near elite. And an above average QB. And above average WR's.

And this team has an elite O-line that any competent back could be successful running behind.

And did he not get a signing bonus up front to cover that possibility?

I mean, when a player gets cut there's always the possibility of signing with another team, so you add that to the up front signing bonus the player got they aren't hurting for money. And if a player is washed up he shouldn't be playing. If any of us don't cut it at work anymore we get fired, and we don't get signing bonuses up front. Players have multi-million dollar safety nets. They'll be just fine.
