I said jerry would cave, but after some comments, I thought it might not be for a few more weeks, but just have to wait and see.
The media will report any little thing and even some lies, on this story.
What would be caving?
If both sides come off of their original offers, then neither is caving. It's all just relative to expectations.

Several have been saying on local "insider" radio that Zeke has been asking for 20% over Gurley numbers---which is what Joe Thomas said the 2019 market should bring. Zeke and agent keep re-tweeting it.

I very highly doubt he gets anything close to that.

But that is a "rule" that the owners themselves made up.

Why cant people understand that the NFL is completely controlled by the owners ........ they can do whatever they want with impunity.

They can punish players with no proof ........ and they can decide to ban players without making it official.

They can literally do whatever they want ....
they cant do anything they want, they have to abide by the cba, and each owner has a vested interest in new rules and how players are punished etc.
They hire goodell so he can supposedly not play favorites. Goodell runs the show, and has to keep the majority of owners happy with how he runs the show.

I never mentioned Hurns ....... I said Dez and Ware.

Hurns was never any good to begin with ........

They did not Honor Dez and Ware's contacts ........ they used clauses to get out of both contracts that the owners put in for themselves and not for the players ...... thats why the NFL is the only place where contracts are one sided.

and they get dumb fans to defend them and vilify the players.
Sorry, that was birdwells. Figures, lots of accusations of teams not honoring contracts but no legitimate examples.

Let me ask you this, did Dez and Ware get guaranteed money? Was the team not allowed to cut them or were they obligated to let them play for a specified amount of years before they could cut them?

1. The owners are even richer men. So siding with either one over the other is stupid.

2. NFL players are not overpaid. They are getting paid relative to the amount of money that their ability to play football, allows the teams to earn. Their amazing football skills, generates billions of dollars in revenue because people like to watch them play the game and are willing to spend money on tickets, concessions, jerseys, memorabilia, and millions of people across the country dedicate their Sunday’s in the fall, to watching them play on TV.

Playing high level football has high monetary value. That’s capitalism. Saying they are overpaid is nonsense.

People come to watch teams play. Sure the players make the plays, but its about the teams. Preseason games proves that. Players come and go, its the teams and the league that is the foundation of the sport.

Some players are 100% overpaid. No question about it.

We will have to disagree on that one. Players today dont do anything different than players in the past. They just get overpaid for it.

Zeke could sign the day before and he would still play.
I wouldn’t trust him to know all his assignments in the new offense or to be prepared with the game plan. That’s asking for mistakes if not turnovers.

Gary Brown spent months with him in the offseason on the changes, and the changes are more about approach and playcalling than terminology or formations. RBs don't need preseason reps the way a WR or CB does.
