Again. The "honor the contract" thing is total garbage.

For example, we signed Hurns to a two year 12 mill deal. We cut him after a year.

Yet no one is crying about how the team didn't honor the contract.

He got an injury settlement if I recall. He didn't just get cut and he then went on and signed a deal with Miami so it's not garbage. Why do you have agents if not for working and then explaining contract details? Hurns new what the deal was, he had some bad luck and moved on.

There is a big difference between this and the Zeke situation. First the nobody cares about the Charges. If Jerry said this it would be the only thing on ESPN for the next 2 weeks. Also the Chargers are nowhere close to being a SB caliber team, That most people see the Cowboys as. Gordon isn't going to put them over the top the way Zeke has the potential to for the Cowboys.
Still it's refreshing to here a GM say enough is enough.
The Chargers were tied with the best record in the AFC at 12-4 and have been going about the business of building a top 3 D, they're a hell of a lot closer to the SB than the Cowboys.

And both sides know this. All these people who cry about teams not honoring contracts either don't understand the contracts themselves or are just flat making stuff up to support an agenda.
Ditto for the crybabies that come here crying about players not honoring the contracts. It’s the same both ways.

Damn. 330k a week. It would take me years to amass that much income. Add to the fact that his pay is modest compared to others. I get that the average career of a professional athlete is short, but compared to the average working stiff, it's hard to sympathize.
Any idea how much Jerry is making per week? He doesn’t even have to suffer brain damage making his.

why are we looking past the billionaires while attacking the millionaires.

This BS. It's not the same at all. I'm going to just go ahead and put you in the Agenda column.
How’s it different?

it’s you with the agenda. I’m simply presenting both sides.

the agenda are the ones choosing to attack 1 side. Clearly you can see this.

Again, people like you need to educate themselves. Teams have a contractual right to terminate the contract early. Players don’t have a right to hold out. But no matter how many times your misconceptions in this regard are corrected you continue to trot out this garbage.

The only thing guaranteed in any NFL contract is the guaranteed money in the deal. Hurns got his guaranteed money. You are not guaranteed years or playing time.
It has been that way for years.

Because teams are allowed to terminate contracts. It is part of the CBA. Pay attention.
Any players are allowed to hold out. It’s part of being a human.

Being allowed to do something means nothing for either side.

this isn’t slavery. Players sell services to owners who sell tickets to us regular guys.

No one is arguing a team is committing a crime for not honoring the contract.
We are just saying to call it what it is on both sides.

No one is asking him for the bonus money back either

Sure. Don't work, don't get paid. I'm fine with that.

Time to go to work Zeke.

If he had guaranteed money in the contract they still have to honor it.
