Well that's a different discussion.

But IMO, when you invest like we have in the OL, doubling down and spending a crap ton of money on a TB is a waste of cap resources. If your OL is that good that four of the starting 5 are all in the Top 3 of contracts for that particular position, then they should be good enough on their own to get you a very good running game.

Dallas had a great OL in the 90's yet other RB filling in for Emmitt never had close to the same impact. OL is important and having a top RB who has the skills to take advantage of that OL is also important.

Gurley got a better deal. Less time with a higher signing bonus. He has health concerns but could get another contract if he was healthy. This is likely Zekes only big deal. He making just a little more than Martin.

Edit... adding a few more tweets.

Imagine an NFL player thinking he's the best at his position? Outrageous and unprecedented.

As for teammates backing his play to get paid, no surprise. I've heard multiple players say you don't mess with another man's money.

Except today's NFL shows over and over and over that this is not actually true. For example, Philly won a SB riding a Top 5 running game because they had a really good OL and a bunch of slop at TB with guys like Blount, Clement and Ajayi.

In fact, if you look at the 5 TBs (not Barkley since he was a rookie) that are considered the best - Bell, Elliott, Gurley, Johnson (I can't even name a 5th).................... only one has even played in a SB.

only if you discount coaching and play calling.

Aren’t Dak and him really good friends? It would not be surprising with what’s reported Dak is asking for
They were before Zeke’s trainer, Faulk, trashed Dak. I’m curious how that conversation went.

“Hey, Zeke, why are people connected with you saying I’ll be a bum after I get a contract? Don’t you want me to get my money, too?”
“Huh. Hey, man. I’ve been in Cabo. Ask my agent.”

If Zeke didn’t honestly believe he’s the best, Jerry woulda probably traded him for picks.

Not many RB in SB history have won rushing title and SB in the same year but guys like Smith and Davis were critical parts to those championships by Dallas and Denver. You can down play the RB spot all you want that is your choice. What I do know is talent wins and Zeke helps to make this team better. He nor any single player will do it all but what he brings to this team makes a big difference. I don't think Rams even sniff the SB without Gurley and all he brings to the table

Because Faulk is entitled to his own opinion. I think more has been made of Faulk appearance in Cabo, what a few days leading up to the contract being signed? Meantime we have people here who are fans who have said much worse about Dak that Faulk did. At least Faulk does not claim to be a fan of this team

how do you know he's not the best mentally. or even contractually for that matter. his teammates love the guy.
Really? Really? You think his off the field decisions have been the best mentally?

Okay I'm not going to blame a guy for getting his money everyone else is but what happened with the ownership stand that they weren't going to set the market? And knowing full well that it would come down to this why not just pay him and have him here in Camp? I don't think Jerry needs to sensationalize the Cowboys anymore that's all anybody talks about anyway Win Lose or Draw and I think that's all that matters to Jerry that's the sad part but that's just one man opinion

So was Marshawn Lynch! And Dallas, LA and NO, 3 of the NFC finalist, had 3 of the best RB's in the league.

Tears so good
Another fantastic response from zrinkill. I’m actually starting to like your posts. No originality, no cleverness, no wittiness, just straight dumb. You remind me of the dunces in the old western movies who just sit in the back, giggle and act tough while their leader speaks.

If I work with a guy who says that publicly about one of my teammates, I’m distancing myself from it publicly. If I try private damage control I’m a coward.

The first time Elliott makes a mistake this board and every fan in the country and everybody that's not a fan of the Cowboys will be all over him like flies on poop
