They failed as a staff. If you can't get a guy to play with effort and he's a first round pick gettin that bread that's on coaching.
Not necessarily.........he had issues coming out of college, IIRC.

You know the draft is a crapshoot.....he probably said all the right things, did none of them.

You can lead a horse to water, etc.

When did he not do his job? Did he ever check out of games? or skip practice? Real coaches work with players to get the best out of them. Attitude or not you find out what the deal is and try to rectify the situation. Coward staff behind a coward coach given power by a coward owner.

Marinelli has always been known as a player's coach who works with them to get the best out of them. So you're saying that because ONE player, who appears to be an attitude problem, seems to be giving staff fits, they're not doing their job? The fault couldn't be with that one player? Ridiculous.

Marinelli sucks. He gets hyped by the media and fans here. Never seen an 0-16 coach gets so much praise.

So you started a thread to tell us of your bad memory ???

Lol jk
It’s like the time my dad visited me and as soon as he arrived from the airport, he excitedly told me about the “tall black man” he sat next to and conversed with on the plane.

He had no idea who it was until after the plane landed and someone told him he was seated next to a famous ex-NBA star!

....but poor Dad, for the life of him, couldn’t remember the guy’s name at all, thus completely ruining the story.

Still cant believe that this is the stance they are taking with Taco. You have Randy Gregory who is always suspended and David Irving who was suspended multiple times and they did whatever they wanted. Seems like they have different rules for each player. Not only that why draft Hill so high if he isn't going to play.
Why draft Jaylon Smith if he wasn't going to play?

With Quinn coming back, Armstrong starting to develop, and Joe Jackson bringing a similar kind of power-rush game with more hustle, Taco is officially screwed. If he finishes out the year as a Cowboy, he'll pry be inactive every week unless injuries strike.

Jason Garrett 9/9/19 at around -7:27. He’s gone.

"Yeah, we'll see. It's always a competition every week to see who's gonna be up and available for us at all positions. We have 10 guys on the active roster on the defensive line and we dressed 8 for the game, and just felt like the guys right us there gave us the best chance."

Maybe everything after the "Yeah, we'll see" was just Garrett Speak. Those 3 words sounded disappointed. Whether it's because they're moving on from Taco, or just disappointed in his poor play, it's hard to tell.

I tend toward the latter over the former. If they were really working to dump Taco, Garrett would have been better prepared with his Garrett Speak, and we wouldn't have gotten 3 words with honest emotion out of him at the start.

Sounds like he’s getting released when Quinn is back.

Don't forget Gregory. But besides that, what about before Quinn comes back? Like next week? I don't know what it is about our "yeah we'll see" coach and Taco, but you can't tell me him starting opposite of Tank would be any worse than Crawford.

Thanks for the link. He definitely sounds like he will not be on the team much longer.

Host: "Does he have a future with your team?"
Garrett: "Yeah we will see."

That didn't really tell me anything other than the staff didn't think he was good enough to be active. That there is a lot of competition.

Prolly was tired of being sat behind tyrone crawford.

Exactly. We watch the same game Taco does. Crawford trying to bull rush, every snap, from the DE position only to be stood up and carried out of the play. The irony is if this is the end of Taco he played his best game in his last chance. Albeit preseason. I find it very hard to believe it is talent because Taco has flashed. Certainly a better talent than Crawford. The only explanation is that Taco is a complete nightmare of an individual. Possible. I hope that’s the case and they are not letting him go because they think Crawford is better. With Rod one never knows.

There was a long pause before he said anything. Awkwardly long for a radio interview.

Anyone got the feeling that maybe Taco's far from being a delight in the locker room?

His tweets demonstrate a tendency to be less than engaging! It happens all the time!

If a player is known to be a habitual malcontent, could he be a cancer for team spirit?
