There was a long pause before he said anything. Awkwardly long for a radio interview.

That seems revealing, in that it's a far cry from Garrett's usual tendency to gush praise for his players.

The fact that he couldn't manage to come up with anything positive to say seemingly speaks volumes.

That's pretty pointed talk for JG..maybe it's to light a fire under him. But getting benched when you had a good preseason there's something else going on

Brilliant move picking up Taco. They knew then that they would have a hard time paying the #1 picks a 2nd contract, so they came up with a plan to pick up a player who had no chance for a 2nd contract! Brilliant cap move! Can you imagine paying Lawrence and Taco, we'd all be pulling out our hair!

Marinelli sucks. He gets hyped by the media and fans here. Never seen an 0-16 coach gets so much praise.

I never said he was good at calling plays or coordinating. His strength lies in getting players to play harder. He got a bunch of previous scrubs to do better than they previously would. Taco is a spoiled problem child.

How long before Marinelli has to answer for this debacle....
I refuse to believe the Pro Scout and Collegiate draft team completely missed on Taco.

Likely never. He's a sacred cow in this organization and gets nothing but praise, no matter how badly things go. Living on past reputation and respect for accomplishments of years ago.

This is also false he gets plenty of good players. He even has a say in what players and we are continuously near the bottom of the league in pressure %

True. But that's consistent with Taco simply being down the depth chart, and as I argued, maybe more consistent with that than with them planning on shipping Taco out.

Doesn't mean they're not shipping him out. Means that this interview isn't great evidence for it.

Yes, Garrett's odd comments could mean anything.

I don't know if he is frustrated at Taco or frustrated at having to answer the question or frustrated that he does not make the roster decisions himself.

I mean he did win us that Super Bowl in 2002

They should though. If at this point, he hasn't surpassed Crawford, and was passed by Dorance, then he does need to be traded. Otherwise, he'll be released and we'll get nothing when we can activate Quinn

Not really taking much from that. Typical non-answer from Garrett that people are reading a bunch into. It is just as likely that Taco didn't play because he can't flex inside. The guys who played ahead of him .. Armstrong, Jackson, even Crawford, didn't manage a single tackle.

What I hear is that the players who work hardest in practice get to play and that no one, regardless of draft status gets a free pass.

When did he not do his job? Did he ever check out of games? or skip practice? Real coaches work with players to get the best out of them. Attitude or not you find out what the deal is and try to rectify the situation. Coward staff behind a coward coach given power by a coward owner.

Yeah Im sure hes a victim just like Rico.

For some reason I can't play it on my computer. I was listening to the interview on the radio on the way home. Nothing earth shattering until the guys asked him about Taco being inactive. The hosts stated they were surprised Taco was inactive due to how he was playing in preseason etc. Garrett kind of paused for a while and then gave a response, can't remember how he worded it, that sounded like Taco's time with Dallas was coming to an end. When the interview ended the hosts of the show both were like Wow! Sounds like Taco is gone. I wish I could play the link or remember exactly what Garrett said but I was driving in my car and Garrett's response caught me off guard.Jason Garrett.

I tried to post pod cast link but it is blocked. You can search 94.5 San Antonio and Jason Garrett.

Here is my theory-trade is already done, Cowboys hold him as insurance until Quinn returns. No injuries, he will remain inactive in order to protect him.
