Couple side notes;

One tweeter joked yesterday he could have sworn he was watching Boise State offense Sunday. The only thing missing was the blue turf.....lol

Guess the one player who will benefit most if this Moore explosion continues.......Dak. His stats will go through the roof and he'll have wins credited to his position. Which is exactly I disagreed with fans/posters saying let's wait until of this season to sign him. Funny thing, even Jerry not sure if Dak wanna now.

Kellen Moore is quite the popular guy around the college football world.

Out of hundreds of comments made in that sector, all those kids kept talking about was kellens boise state offense and how nice it looks on the NFL level.

In alot of their opinions, they say that offense still gives them nightmares from when their teams were beat by that Boise state squad.

I didnt watch alot of those boise teams but I'm guessing they caused quite the stir.

Good to see it on Dallas.

The signing delay is indicative of Prescott maximizing his potential return in a new contract. He is strengthening his negotiating position with each gameday performance and victory. And Moore is aiding him now with a (seemingly) improved offensive game plan--even if its origin is partially from the great state of Idaho, lol. Smart.

Take a bow .......:clap:Other words, he may now decide to ride Kellen's coattail all the way to $40M per year. Before anyone says that's cheating (lol), to late. That's the way the position works.....

I'm happy for Dak's progress and financial well-being but I'll stop short of finding joy in the decimation of the team's cap space,,, I thought he was smarter than that.

It works for every position if everything falls in place for any particular player. Quarterbacks have the customary advantage of the recognition playing the most important position on a team.

Everything is falling into place for Prescott at this stage of his career. He will be paid. The franchise's salary cap will bear the brunt of his compensation. The front office will act and (hopefully) plan for both the near and far future based on all salary cap decisions. The only remaining mystery is how certain fans and media talking heads will both cope and react after the expected signing takes place.

and thats an excellent point. If someone likes the player and wants them to be the franchise QB thats fine, to each their own, but some of Dak"s cheerleaders want him to break the bank and make double the salary of Brady as though it vindicates their support of him........as you said, an exorbitant, ludicrous salary only hurts the TEAM.

I wanted to re-sign Zeke but if it was 10 million dollars less i would have been much happier. Some just don't get Economics 101

Yeppers. Unfortunately, pro sports is the quintessential "what have you done for me lately" league. One bad game and both Dak and Moore will be roasted

Question......when would you like to see him sign, now or wait until after the season or as some say, make him prove himself some more.

It is any general manager's responsibility to be smart with a franchise's salary cap, not the player. That said, the general manager may be able to forecast how a current large signing can be reasonably and positively absorbed into annual salary cap increases. Or not. GM's have a lot of responsibility--even those who make themselves one for life, lol.

This is NOT TRUE.....not a single poster I read wanted him to "break the bank". They wanted to get signed as soon as possible whereas many, if not all his critics ( including yourself ) wanted Jerry to hold signing him until after the season. Other words, we wanna see more. Now he off to a sizzling start you can see waiting could end up costing another $5-10M.

Pretty sure I can dig up the response and posters if you like.....

Jesus, one game when we beat the current 29th ranked team and people are issuing apologies. Can’t wait to see the hype after we destroy the current 28th ranked team, the Commanders, followed by the 32nd ranked team, the Dolphins.

On a side note, after watching New Orleans play I’m already feeling confident about that game. Their secondary is horrible and Eli Apple is still playing, the same Eli Apple that Houston exploited and that was directly responsible for our win last year. If Linehan could expose that loser, I’m sure Moore will have a field day.
