I'm sorry to the 11 people that liked this, but there's so much wrong in this post. Very little research went into this.
Phins rotate their DBs like most teams rotate their rush men. So no Minkah is not a back up lmao. Even if they didnt rotate, a backup doesnt play 64% of snaps in week one. He also played the 3rd most snaps on defense for the phins last year, so the only 11 games started statement is really bad too.
After that the phins reportedly wanted a 1st for him, but will have to settle for a 2nd. They don't want a player back if you paid ANY attention to the dolphins the last six months you'd know that. Even if they wanted a player, Tacl foesnt even come remotely close to the same value.
So the question is would yall trade a 2nd for him?
I welcome any information on the player.
When I say "from my understanding" that means I don't know all of the details surrounding the player but from the basic overview he was only credited with 11 starts last year. They also had both players show as starters on the depth chart listed as starters in game 1 this year plus Fitzpatrick which still points to something add about the situation.
After more research it appears ** and other players like starting Safety and big contract player Reshad Jones were unhappy about their roles in game 1. Jones was removed at one point and was seen throwing his helmet in a fit of anger.
** and his mother have complained openly about his role under the new coaching staff. It appears that ** does not like playing SS but playing Nickel CB was the reason he didn't "start" all games last season despite playing over 50% of snaps in all games.
If he does not want to play at least part of the time at SS then I don't see the Cowboys trading for him.
My statement of trade Taco for him for just for fun. I don't know why a rebuilding team would want Taco; although the Dolphins don't seem to be the most well managed team in regards to those types of decisions.
