Just because Garrett's offense had a productive season years ago doesn't mean he is a good OC. Far from it.
The biggest problem with Garrett has been his inability to adjust, keep up with the modern offenses and avoid being predictable.
If Moore has a great year THIS year then he becomes boring and predictable while the rest of the NFL offense rolls on, then he isn't a good OC.
That is your relevance of how long ago.
In 2016 Linehan had a great year. He started doing new things that Garrett rarely did and it surprised other teams. And obviously the surprise of Zeke and Dak.
So is Linehan a great OC? Nope. Because the league quickly caught onto what he was doing and he couldn't adjust.
Are you getting a picture of why a random year of good offense doenst make a good OC?
This isn't tough stuff. Yet you continue to stick up for Garrett who you say "is not a good offensive mind" and "is an average HC".
ok, not sure what you are confusing....when he was the OC, he produced top 10 offenses. then he became head coach and his offense still produced top 10 offenses.
what's so confusing about that? you keep insisting he was OC years ago.....so if he is not the OC now, what can he do? do you expect him to be the play caller?
and we may complain, but the proof is in the pudding and the offenses despite predictability was top 10..
again, as I have said over and over again, the post season has not been successful...
and as a coach, he has his OC, running his system and as mentioned in previous responses, they adjusted...like in 2016, linehan adjusted......that's part of the game, that's part of the process. that's part of what every coach does.
and if its moore doing the play calls, then moore is a coach under garrett, running garrett system, but calling plays.....part of a coaches job is to hire the right assistant coaches and allowing them to do their job.
and to the point that I have made, which you just pointed to....coaches adjust. linehan didn't. so linehan is gone.....
you keep going in circle, trying to make a case that garrett was OC years ago and thus him being a good offensive coach is no longer relevant. thus his old ranking are not relevant, back then and now.....as the coach...that's not relevant to the argument.
suffice it to say, we get it. you hate garrett. you are emotional about your hatred of garrett. you are personal on your hatred of garrett and you want to dismiss anything that he has done, credit everybody else and discredit anything he has had in the past. I get it. we all get it. you are entitled to your opinion. as fans we can do that. I have not argued one way or the other. I presented facts and you seemingly are arguing with yourself trying to make a very very very specific case to win an argument with yourself!
get over it dude.
