Garrett should have never been HC. He was the most unqualified HC in Cowboys history.

In the most unconventional and unprecedented manner in 2007 Jerry named Garrett” the future of the Cowboys” even before he named a HC.

Not only did Jerry set up Wade to fail but what in the hell did that mean? I’m assuming we’re still in the future? Lol

Just more evidence why were so doomed with Jerry.
Well, in all fairness, I put Dave Campo at #1. He was so pathetic, I forgot his name and had to look it up. I seriously doubt Dallas will ever find a less qualified person to be a HC than Dave Campo.

It’s the “Jones culture” that seeps into everything about this team. Nepotism, a lack of accountability at the top and a crippling arrogance that allows a man to buy the GM position for $147 million then name himself GM TIL death do us part. And bring his kids along too.

What could go wrong?

If you don't care go follow another team. We don't agree on much around here, but all of us care deeply about the Dallas Cowboys.
That's why we say some of the stupid crap we do on here, and we are all guilty of having stupid takes on occasion. We do it because the Cowboys mean so much to us.

There is zero reason to spend money on the Cowboys. Stephen and his comments today make it clear Jason isn't going anywhere. We are basically the Detroit Lions or Washington Commanders. Its Jerry and Stephens toy and there is no reason for them to change. Its been 25 years of crap. If Jason isn't gone I'm getting to the point where I'm almost done with this team.
His comments today were a slap in the face to any fan who has been with this team.
For those of us with jobs, and work outside of Dallas radio, it would be helpful to provide context, quotes and links.

Thanks.

Campo was more qualified and more experience than Garrett coming in. You’re just measuring his record .
Nope. Dave was not qualified to be a HC. He was however not the worst defensive coach. He just was not HC material. He was unqualified. I could see Garrett being more of a potential HC back when he was an OC more than Campo when he was a coordinator.

How do you consider Garrett as more qualified than Campo who had decades of experience.

The Cowboys are not the same franchise we grew to love. That's all gone.
These new Cowboys are about sales and hype. As long as they can market their product to trusting fans that keep buying merchandise and psl's, and getting their tv royalties, they consider each season a big success.
After all, the franchise is the most valuable sports franchise in the world.
Think "pro wrestling".
Jerry has kept Jason because he can. Until it affects his pocketbook, he can do what he wants.

If Stephen really believed what he said, JG wouldn't be sitting on the last year of his contract right now.

This is a make or brake season for him and they are going to support him till they don't. As they should.

It is what it is. I feel for this generation of fans. We now have college graduates who have never lived to see a Cowboy championship.

It’s like other dormant or disappointing franchises. You simply lower your expectations and become more apathetic fans.

I turn 30 this year and have never consciously seen an NFC championship game. 3 playoff wins and a lot of disappointment.

When things finally do break our way it will certainly be that much sweeter after all the disappointment though.

Exactly, this franchise has become more about generating wealth rather than getting a coach in here that would upset the balance and get us to a Super bowl. Jerry got his stadium. I have watched this team for 30+ years and its time for a change. When you have the most valuable franchise on the planet hiring the best coach money can buy should be a no brainier.

Maybe if you actually knew what you're talking about it might make sense. Phillios was/is a defensive guru. He was hire as the head coach and as long as the Cowboys defense was a top tier defense he kept his job. Jones, to ballance things got a Garrett to run the offense. After just a couple years of being the OC Garrett was offered head coaching jobs from a couple teams that Garrett turned down when Jones promoted him to OC/Assistant head coach. Phillips would have kept his job if the defense continued to be as top defense but when the defense stopped being a top defense and started to continually give up 4th quarter leads and the Cowboys losing Jones saw no need to keep a defensive guru who defense wasn't doing the job as the head coach. If Jones made any mistake it was to look at Phillips record as a head coach prior to being the Cowboys head coach and saw that he wasn't a very good head coach before nor the one time he had a chance after leaving the Cowboys. Lastly when Jones said Garrett was the future of the Cowboys you left out that conversation was about the Cowboys OFFENSE and how the OFFENSE was going to be so much better. Jones did say the future for the Cowboys but was in reference to the OFFENSE.
