What if we traded Zeke at the deadline?

90 million will be here until he is done with his contract (or 2 years before), or if he gets released. They're stuck with him.

Hear me out. We are running a different style of offense and its more predicated on passing and RPO'S. The NFL seems to be evolving into the college game. Someone on here astutely reminded me of this. More I thought about it, HE WAS RIGHT. Zeke doesn't seem to fit and is a stud workhorse back that would fit better for other teams. WHY NOT SELL HIGH? Meaning, we have Pollard and all those speedster guys..why not trade him for a player and a pick? WHY not at least see what the market would give? Trade part of the contract and get a guy like Linval Joseph? I am spit ballin here lol..but maybe a 1st round pick and a stud run stuffer helps NOW. We are undermanned at DT...so any thoughts or counter ideas? What trade would ya'll make that doesn't involve trading for a HC? LOL...
How about we leverage our system around a all world talent like Zeke. He is an amazing pass catcher who only has 11 receptions this year. Two out of his first three years he got the rushing title.
You would never get fair value for Zeke the player. Ask yourself this question.. If Payton or McVay or Shanahan had Zeke how would he fit in their offense?

They are in full tank mode and not looking to win one game. Would love to see them play Cincinnati, I could see one have first and goal several times and neither team would score. You would see fumbles and everything to keep from scoring.

Players don't try to "tank" by intentionally fumbling, etc.. They aren't out there thinking about draft position. They're trying to survive and stay employed.

Organizations tank by who they put on the field, trade away, etc.. Difference.

ok fair enough... who would you target in a trade at DT?

I don't know of any DT on the block, at least not one who would make a difference. I also don't think the Cowboys would trade for one midseason.

It would depend what we could get for him. I'd doubt we could do a Herschel Walker kind of trade. That was a one-time thing. It's doubtful we could get enough to make it worth it, especially with his contract.

We’d be lucky for anyone to even take him off our hands with that contract let alone a draft pick...maybe a 3rd at best.

Nope. He’s the most dependable player on the team. You know what you have in zeke.

say it...out with it. Its just a pie in the sky hypethetical. I got thick skin.

Bro, I am worse than you. By that I mean my fantasy land Cowboys team what ifs are even more to the extreme. I'll go back to lurking in my closet after I type this cuz I'm already on the bandwagon of "Tank for Tua"

Yup, at 3-2. Yup, while leading the division and 11 games to play.

I can totally relate to fantasy land hypotheticals.

For that reason, you'll get no criticism from me, lol

Dallas would have a top 5 pick in the draft, a new coaching staff and a dilemma at QB. Re-sign Prescott after seeing that he can't carry the load on his own or find out the new coach doesn't want Prescott and prepare to draft a young QB in 2020. Lol

Anytime someone starts off a post by saying “hear me out” you know it’s going to be beyond ridiculous.
your welcome. OF COURSE..which IS WHY I asked for input. Looking at chess pieces we can move to improve our defense that doesn't involve coaches and owners lol..so YEAH...its outlandish on its face, but we need to have this discussion. We have glaring issues at the interior or the D.

Would probably see 3rd teamers out there if those 2 met because they know the loser will still be all in on Tua and the winner would readjust there thinking because both needs QB.
