Since the score was 34-24 with time running out, kicking a FG was weird

I never said the kick wasn't an option after the 2:00 minute warning. I know you're just quick to try to argue with any fan, and that causes you to miss most of the discussions that you try to jump into, but if you want to argue with someone, please ask your parents, or an adult, for help. Cheers.

So now, because just about everyone in the thread has proved you wrong, you go and change the subject.

Cute papi.

Lol...what are you even talking about, kid? You jumped in on a conversation, and while having no idea what was being said in that conversation, claimed I said something about the onside kick not being an option. You've embarrassed yourself many times here, but this time you crossed into cringe territory. Yikes....

I mean I am sure we were all thinking 2 TD's to win the game 38-34. So why kick it on 4th and 5 when it's not that much time left and you are driving to score a TD. If it was 6 mins left then yes I would kick the FG but we had come from such a huge hole that it really made no sense to even go for it. Did Garrett want to play for OT????

I truly hate this coach
Quite simple, you needed two scores. I must be a genius...

For everyone. Our brilliant @Cowfan75 dropped this gem

well that's my point, since there was a likely chance of needing a onside kick I dont know why a FG was even a option.

Literally not understanding how in either situation, a FG or TD, you gotta have a successful onside kick in between.

But yeah, I'm the idiot.

I thought being close to the endzone it made sense to try and get the 5 yards and the td first. If we make that fg and get the onside kick. Going to be a lot harder to drive for a td with 1:30 left no timeouts

Agreed. Since they were so close they should have went for the TD first. In the unlikely event they recover an onsides a FG would be much easier to attain. They need to go back to the old kickoff rules. Even back to the 30 yard line. Injuries are part of this game. It's a high impact sport. These new rules are ruining part of the game and look like a gimmick.

Why would you want to further humiliate yourself by bringing this to everyone's attention? So for anyone who cares...this Abe kid jumped in on a conversation and claimed that I said an onside kick wasn't needed to win at the end of the game, or some such nonsense. What I actually said was simply that onside kicks don't work in today's NFL, which is a fact this season.

Seriously, kid...you should have stopped while you were behind....good grief!

Highly doubtful.
The key point I made here is "too much".
As in too much simulation makes one lose touch with reality.

Take another sip, Hen... lol
Jason Garrett has been coaching over a decade now and still does not know the basics. What is your point?

I actually thought they should have kicked the FG with 2:34 left and a timeout. Even if GB gets the onside kick you have a TO and 2 min warning. I don’t expect Garrett to think about those things.

You don't succeed with onside kicks in today's NFL anyway.

You literally need an onside recovery in either situation.

You're like a little kid who keeps stomping his feet until the teacher spanks him in the middle of the classroom. So be it...above is my original comment, and below it is your response, which has nothing to do with what I said. This Abe kid is something special, folks....

No once they didn't score a TD on 3rd down its a 2 Score game they had to kick the FG in order for an onside kick to even give them a chance for a second score.
Personally I knew once they missed a shot to score a TD on 3rd down it was pretty much over.

The decision should have either been to kick the field goal before the 2 minute warning (giving you two click stoppages), or go for it on 4th and 5. You play to win the game, not to delay the loss as long as possible.

Every team on the planet kicks the FG there. You’re playing for the tie at that point.. you need 2 scores. And you’re taking the highest percentage road to get there. FG, onside kick.

That's not the highest percentage. The highest percentage is convert the 4th down and get the td, when you are a few yards away. Then after the onside you only need 30 yards for a field goal instead of 70 yards for a td.

The field goal at that point was the right call.

Kicking a 55 yarder near end of the first half was the wrong call. Should have gone for it then.
Too many wrong calls, and mistakes. That 55 yarder was infuriating though.

You don’t get the TD game over. You hope you score with the first 3 downs. You don’t throw the game away on 4th. That was the right decision. Maher blew it.
