We are a 10 win level team, that some expected to be a 13 win level team

I think too many people drank too much koolaid on this team before the season and expected to be able to be the best team on the field each and every game. We arent and havent been that good in a while. We are good enough to beat good teams, 1 or 2 plays going our way turns the last 2 losses into wins. But we arent good enough to be expected to be clearly the better team in those games. Simply put this is a 9-10 win, borderline playoff caliber team. I think some people spent too much time reading the BTB stroke peices to see reality

I had us at 10 wins before the season started. I never could understand how so many thought this was the deepest team since the 90's. I even had us losing at N.O. But losing to GB the way we did is stunning. I expected a competitive game even if we lost.

You sure? I mean, this team has numerous pro bowlers and more player in the NFL’s top 100 than any other. They went 7-1 to end last year and have more talent this year.

Do you believe wins are necessarily indicative of talent level? Isn’t that kind of a begging the question fallacy?

I think people enjoyed the "Xavier Woods could be a Pro Bowl caliber Safety this year" and "This looks like it could be Maliek Collins break out year" sauce too much

Overall talent level, not necessarily. But whats probably more important is how that talent is distributed and used. This team still doesnt have top high performing talent at key spot on the line and in secondary

I had 10 wins.

These past two weeks change that prognostication dramatically with my biggest concerns being on the defensive side and our now gun-slinging turnover prone QB.

The seasons second half is a gauntlet of a schedule. It really is...

I had us at 10 or 11 wins. Thought this would be one of the best teams we've had since the 90s we've only really had like 2 or 3 since the 90s. But doesnt look like it right now but still better than most of the teams we've had.

The number of Pro Bowlers and NFL top 100 players mean next to nothing. No one can vote you to a title in the NFL.

Quinn, Cobb, Hill, and Pollard are the massive talent influx?

This team got rolled in the divisional round last season, despite their 7-1 finish, and are pretty much the same team this year (including coaches).

We’re not talking about titles and wins. We’re talking talent. If your premise is that the more talented team always wins, it’s dubious from the outset.

How we lost to GB is unacceptable. If we want to really be contenders losing 2 in a row is also not acceptable.

I expected around 11 while acknowledging how tough the schedule is..but they should be able to beat a Breesless Saints and an Adamsless Packers....those are HUGE breaks in a tough schedule.

I don't have a feel for this team yet. I was encouraged when we went 3-0 against bad teams. Now that we are 0-2 against better teams, I won't proclaim that we are a 10-6 team until I see that this team can bounce back against some adversity and shows some heart. We've been here before all too often.

I agree with you that alot of people had us winning 12-13 games, i don't know if i would call it drinking the "coolaid" to me it's just called being a fan of your team and wanting to believe, i don't blame anyone for that one bit. There were alot of us however who did predict this team to be right around 10 wins this season, me personally i predicted 9-7 possibly going 10-6 and i said we would go as far as our D carried us and right now that looks closer to 9-7

I knew our offense was going to be better. I expected the same defense. We got a better offense and a worse defense.

In hindsight we should have expected a drop off from the defense after being exposed by the Colts then the Rams considering they did nothing to address the interior. It is what it is and will remain an issue with the stubbornness in the front office.

I was told on this very forum that we were turning the corner

Garrett was becoming a great HC
Dak was becoming a great QB

that was all stuff of myth a legend?
Not true?
Now @darthseinfeld tells me ?
Heads have to roll I tell you

Hell, I had us at least 11 or 12 wins after seeing our new found offense. Now I barely see us as 7-9 due to the schedule we're playing.
