This team has finally taken on the demeanor of it's HC. No emotion. Flat. Uninspiring delivery. The talking points already mapped out before the media asks it's first question after another disappointing performance. Garrett refuses to accept responsibility-- why should any of his players?

The Eagle's HC guarantees a win to inspire his team-- JG keeps talking about getting a little bit better every day. Now-- they did come back from 3-5 last year-- so maybe they are circling the wagons internally and have a buzzsaw waiting for Philly on Sun night-- but I won't hold my breath. Man-- I just want a HC who has some balls and stands up for the franchise he represents. There are a lot of viable responses he could have given in response to Pedersen-- but the milk-toast, nice-guy schtick is literally the worst one IMO. Garrett may be a "motivator"-- but he falls far short of being a warrior. That is what this team needs right now-- some fire and passion-- someone to throw some tables and lockers around and not explain himself in trite little platitudes.

If this team comes out and lays an egg again with the division on the line-- then Garrett is done. He is already a lame duck coach and the players are simply not responding to him during games. The franchise will need a shakeup in order to have any shot of regaining it's competitive spirit.

Firing Garrett at the bye week and rolling with Richard as the interim HC does two things:

1. Holds JG accountable and gives the team a chance to come out of it's death spiral

2. Determine whether or not Richard is a capable HC to consider in the offseason.

Won't happen, the Joneses haven't been doing anything but endorse this coaching staff since it started losing.

And didn't Garrett get this HC gig just as you're describing Richard getting it?

I started another thread saying the exact opposite of what you're stating here, which, btw, is good common football sense but when has that ever applied to the Cowboys? If they lose Sunday night and there's too much media chatter about Garrett's future, I am predicting they extend him during the bye. That also assures Booger of no one stealing his thunder just because they're not playing that week.

Richard has not been a good Coordinator. Absolutely gives us no indication hed be better than Garrett.

Well.. Garrett was a terrible coordinator too and he got promoted as head coach and here we are a decade later still scratching our heads as to why.

I guess it’s because he went out and beat those New York Football Giants.

Cowboys backfield coach Kris Richard how fast people forget what he brought to this team. We couldn't even hand off Crossing wide receivers at the end zone before he got here I'm not saying he's a great defensive coordinator but he taught this backfield so much especially this young rookie backfield

I remember getting beat by the giant late in the fourth quarter two wide receivers on the right side they crossed. Cornerbacks was standing there and couldn't handle the hand off. Then the Giants did the same exact thing to the Patriots the following week. Patriots handled across correctly and the Patriots beat the Giants. Ever since we've had Kris Richard we don't do that any longer truly how fast some of these people forget what he brings

Amazing how the season changed. After those first 3 games it was awesome. Now we are almost wanting or expecting to lose just to get another HC. I want to see us get it together and tear it up. But the way we have started playing I am not sure. All the sudden we don’t score till the second half. Something always happens to kill our drives.

Hard to know how to rate his overall performance to this point. The D was improved last year-- taken some steps back this year. How much of it is him? How much Rod? And what would Richard bring if he was calling the shots? He'd be more emotional and inspirational-- that is for sure.

Just because you give him the interim title-- does not mean you give him the job longterm. In essence-- it would be a free preview of how he would lead men under tough circumstances. Richard is an unknown commodity-- but we do know he was getting some interest in the offseason. If Garrett loses this team-- I think seeing what he brings to the table makes sense as we look to the future.

He wouldn't BE Garrett though, so I'll take it for a bit.....
Yes. I do need to clarify.

I absolutely find Garrett a disgusting, loser, POS, garbage HC....however I feel the hype around Richard isnt warranted.

Richard might not be a good coach, I dont know that yet. However I can guarantee the energy of this team would blossom under him. He would be the Energizer bunny replacing a solar panel at night.

It's not Richards fault he is being handicapped with the "bend don't break" principal of Rod. He has NO boom players on this team, Heath?? IS he the next coming of a SS/FS that lowers the boom on anyone but himself falling across the turf from running yet another bad angle? Name just one D player that has opposing teams scheming away from him? Lewis isn't on the field, because of clap. Heard that one today on hangn with the boys. One thing Richard does have, is spunk and spirit, and pretty sure he doesn't PC the players with loving flowers and unicorns BS. But like more then one on this team he is being hampered with decisions being made above him. I'm pretty damn sure, clap is doing the same crap to Moore....

I don't think Richard is what you just described Garrett. Richard might not be everything people have made him out to be but he's probably a level or 3 above what you just described. LOL

Look I agree with you 100% but are we sure about Rod and Kris and their implementation of their concepts? I feel as though, when times are bad, we point at Rod and when times are good, we point at Kris.

Who is actually running the defense? Well Kris is the one handling media sessions and calling plays. Id have to believe its 60-40 Kris.

Did you notice carrot trying to high-five and slap everybody's hands as they come off the field no one wanted anything to do with him I think he's lost this team
