He didn’t endorse him too much after they lost to Michigan State when he publicly threw him under the bus and criticized his coaching. Of course, it got swept under the rug after he apologized...why is it Zeke is always apologizing for something?

Zeke complained that he only got 12 carries that game, none in the 4th quarter, and rightly so. The OC from that season got fired at the end of it, BTW.

Resist the urge to speculate on things you don't know. I'm an OSU alum. I live in Ohio. Zeke loves Urban, and vice versa.

yeah...Interesting. Question is...what kind of staff could he put together? I think he would try and cherry pick his old OU staff....and I don't think they leave.

Plus..I question how long Urban would put up w/ Jerry. Parcells lasted 3 seasons. I imagine it would be kind of the same ride...before Urban decided to check out and want to spend more time w/ his family.

Urban Meyer would be a better choice than Riley, but Jerry probably will put restrictions on him and force Meyers to leave.
It would last one season with this FO clown show......jed being the band leader. Playing Taps as Meyer pulled up.

I’d take Meyer as the HC in Dallas in a heartbeat. A heartbeat.

He is made to be a HC and run the show. Good Lord he’d be so good in Dallas.

You know Elliott would endorse him wholeheartedly. Zeke went to OSU 100% because of Meyer. If Jerry asks his opinion, we know what he’ll say.
A lot of great college HC coaches don't make good NFL coaches & vice versa. (Harbaugh/Big Blue HC)

Chip Kelly ring a bell? Better yet, Barry Switzer?! In fact, there are only 3 College HC's who won both a football National Championship & Superbowl. Johnson, Switzer & Carroll. Very elusive club.

Who knows, right now ANYONE would be better than Garrett.

Then he would be... an Urban Cowboy.
 :lmao:

Nope I’ve never heard of Chip Kelly. Who is that?

I’m new to football, though.

how about Dick Crum. He's Jerry age, they can hit the strip clubs together.

I know the Jerry brings an element to the job that is not desirable in that he sticks his nose in everything and doesn't know when to shut up at times.

If there was ever a shot at Meyer coming to coach Dallas, I wonder if the fact that hes an outsider as far as no ties to the organization, if that would be really good for us.

People have said we need a culture change and I feel like bringing in a head coach with his own staff could set us in the right direction. No ties to players seeing as none have been drafted on their watch and maybe the players respond better to someone who is new better then the same faces that weve seen for a long time.

Just speculation obviously but I would hope (I know it's not likely) that any new coach would be strong enough of a personality to convince Jerry to let him have his own staff and do things his own way.

After being with Garrett for 9 years, plus the time hes been here as an assistant, maybe Jerry takes more of a backseat like he did when Parcells came in.

Its wishful thinking at best but let me have moment than feel free to crap on the idea.

Not just Zeke.

Dak played for Dan Mullen at Mississippi State, Mullen worked under Meyer for 9 years, following him from Notre Dame to Bowling Green to Utah to Florida.

Dak would excel in Meyer's offensive scheme.

For the first 3 games of this season we played Dak as if he was running his Miss State offense. Then we went back to playing the vanilla crap that Garrett forces on this offense.

If it gets Dak to play the way he is comfortable with Im all for it. Getting rid of Garrett and his stupid playbook is what this team needs. Having Meyers will command respect from Jerry also. He seems to listen more to someone who has coaching experience than someone who is wet behind the ears like Garrett.

If I remember correctly, didn’t Parcells say to the media that he’d like to coach in Dallas, then when Jerry heard that Bill had said that, Jerry became interested in Bill? With it ending with Parcells as the HC in Dallas?

It seems like I remember that.

Jerry needed his stadium then.

Serious question-

Who was the last college coach who came into an NFL HC position and had success?

Off the top of my head Pete Carroll... of course pretty much all successful HCs in the NFL did stints as position coaches or coordinators in college though.

Caroll's first stint wasn't exactly successful though.

He also took a few years in SEA to succeed. Not sure this fanbase would want to go through those kind of hard times.
