I am so happy it was busy today at work and I had no idea this was a thing until now.

Yup. Today was yet another instance where the front office wasn't committed to getting a safety, and was just trolling the fanbase. Or some say.
Yup...Cowboys just don't know value. It's laughable at our offer. Rams just traded 2 #1's...and A 4th...for the best cornerback. A 1 and a 2nd...and a conditional pick probably gets it done.

That's too much to give up. Someone else made a good point that none of the other teams were willing to give up that much for Jamal Adams either, if it was true that other teams were interested in him.

Jeff Heath is trending on Twitter right now.

Some semi-funny takes.

Do not read if you're a Heath enthusiast.

wish they got it done.
If that was really the price I'm glad they did not get it done. Much too steep for a team that has built so much through the draft. Players brought in from the outside should supplement what the Cowboys do in the draft, not replace it. For a one time trade of one 1st rounder, Cooper was worth it. A 1st rounder plus two 2nd rounders is too much.

That's not to say that a proven player isn't nice, but a team needs the draft so it can replenish talent without having to pay big contracts to everyone. That's not sustainable.

..so this guy is better than Amari? Cooper was an exchange for 1st round pick.

So this is the thing...........would I give that up for a safety? No. To me that should be two future starters on your team.

That being said.........lets say this was 2 years ago........

We are sitting at.....19th overall pick.......now if someone had said man you could get your hands on Jamal Adams who at the time was just a prospect....all you had to do was trade your pick and two 2nd rounders to move up? I would've done it. And the Cowboys would've done it. They traded a 1st and I believe a 2nd for Mo Claiborne.

I won't fault the Cowboys too much for not making the move but if they liked Adams than a 1st and 2nd's should've been dealt. Maybe it was the fact they would only have him 2 years is what scared them.

They should have pulled the trigger. If we get Adams and win the East, we likely aren't picking until #25 or later. Based on leaked draft boards, we rarely grade more than 18-19 players as legit first rounders. Given that we hardly get anything out of second round picks for a year or 2 anyway, I don't see the issue here. Heck, Last years second rounders have barely played...........Tristy was a horrible evaluation and Connor is going to spend the season on IR.

We offered a 1st and a DAY THREE PICK, not a first and a third. I wonder if the Jets would have taken a first and third at the final hour.

I tend to agree with others though, the Jets weren't looking to trade, they were looking to rob someone. Then again, the Lions wanted two firsts for Slay... That Ramsey trade got people drinking the Madden sauce.

The only positive take away is MAYBE/ Jerry didn’t want to handcuff the next coach without these picks.

The shame is as much as I wanted this player as I think he has HOF potential, I don’t think we can win a championship with HOFers at every position with this head coach.

I make the move but you are wrong about our 2nd rounders. That's the round they got Lawrence, Lee, Chido, Jaylon, Connor Williams and Gregory in. Gregory is MIA of course but the rest of those guys start for us. It doesn't get much better than that in the 2nd round. This team would be in a bad spot without a lot of those guys.

You can't think like that though. Maybe you can but Jerry can't. This is a championship year whether we like it or not. They have made moves that represent that. They should not be worrying about the next head coach. They should be worrying about the next game. THIS SEASON. Adams would help this team this year.
