America's Team. We always get everyone's best game

not really

why didn’t we “get their best” when Jimmy was coaching?

we get their best effort because even the worst teams know that they have a real chance to win against a Garrett coached team
We got their best. Their best just couldn't overcome ours.

Is that you Jason???

10 years...

How many playoff wins?

So seize control, Captain Realist! If you really care, and you have all the answers, help us out!

If we’re so pathetic and irrelevant, why are we covered so much? Why the most value and largest fanbase?

We did get the best even when Jimmy was coaching. It's just that Jimmy knew how to handle the pressure better than Garrett

Face it, it's just an excuse for the games that the Cowboys came out flat or were just generally mediocre.

Anybody seriously think the Eagles "brought their A game" or "played like it was their Super Bowl".

Did the Jets look like world beaters, or did the Cowboys just crap the bed?

I like the Cowboys I grew up with and the Cowboys of the '90's that had integrity and passion.
Jason Garrett has stained the Cowboys franchise and destroyed the integrity;
I stick around hoping he will be fired and the REAL Dallas Cowboys will re-emerge.
I totally disagree I don't think he's destroyed the integrity at all. If anything it continues. What he hasn't done is win. When it mattered most.

That's an opinion. You have no way of knowing that's factual. It's also irrelevant to the Cowboys success, or lack of it.

I've seen "we get everybody's best game" often here after losses. It's an excuse by anyone who uses it.
You're correct. It's my opinion. But when I see a team that sucks but has a great game against us it kind of backed up my theory. But to each his own

I'm not doubting that Meredith said it on MNF.
You're just mistaken on the origin of it.

As someone else stated, the highlight film was changed from
Next Year's Champions to America's Team.

Landry hated it. Tex Schram loved it.

I'm too young to have seen Dandy Don play but I loved listening to
him drive Howard Cosell nuts on MNF... and singing "Turn out the Lights..."
I truly thought Meredith started it but I could be mistaken. It won't be the first time or last time I didn't get something perfect

I am not so sure. I think this is a myth that Cowboy fans believe. I grew up in the SF Bay Area as a Cowboys fan, and although the 49ers and Cowboys had a great rivalry in the 80s and 90s, the 49ers and their fans got much more amped when the played the LA Rams.

It's more than a myth Cowboys fans believe, it's overcompensation for having been losers for so long that they have to create (or hold on to) something others might think is desirable so things will be right in their minds. Same overcompensating mechanism that spurs conspiracy theories when we lose to explain away why it wasn't really a loss.

The fact that we don't usually play the same teams means we could conceivably both get our opponents' best games, just for the sake of argument.

We both played the Jets. The Jets are a division rival for the Pats. You mean to tell me they played us harder because we are America's Team?

You're viewing games the way Garrett coaches. Assuming that the Cowboys simply do their thing every week and the wins and loses are determined entirely by the other team.

I'm not using it as an agenda to justify our win or loss records. I'm sure there are people that do that. I just truly believe been a fan of this team since the sixties. But that this is what happens. So in my opinion we always get everyone's best. Not an excuse not in an agenda. I believe it's almost an actual fact

I don't even know what you're talkin about.. I'm not assuming anything. And I don't have an agenda. When you've been a fan as long as I have you see patterns you see tendencies. You just don't like Jason I think it's your other one with the agenda

Beat me to it.
That's because some people have an agenda use it as an excuse I'm not making excuses. I'm telling you the way I see it as long as I've been a fan. And that's been since the 60s. We always get everyone's best win lose draw

I don't think they played us any hotter than the Patriots because they want to beat both of us yeah but we both get their best game make no mistake about it

It is all about excuses for some fans. The other team can't be better or outplay their team. Has to be the officials, injuries or my favorite, Goodell and the league detest the Cowboys and fix it for them to lose. The fact that a mid level team drives the ratings wagon and revenue are what the TV nets pay for escapes some. The NFL does what is in their best interest, beginning and ending with the revenue.

It is a farce that the Cowboys will get every team's best game, all you have to do is watch the games to know better. The Cowboys have not been the yard stick by which a team measures itself in decades.

When you see a team that sucks (like the Jets) have a good game against the Cowboys you assume it's because they played harder, not that the Cowboys were ill-prepared or executed poorly.

When a team that beat GB (like the Eagles) comes in and gets hammered by the Cowboys , you assume it's because the Cowboys outplayed them.

Not Jason this has to be Jerry. Seize control? What a clown response. I am not a football professional. I am a highly educated guy though with excellent analytical skills. This for example...

Over the past 20 years the Cowboys have fewer playoff wins than Arizona, NYJ, Tampa, Jacksonville, Tennessee, and Minnesota. This team lives off its past. They have been bottom feeders for more than 2 decades. It’s a fact. Forbes franchise values are garbage for anyone other than the owners. Proof? The NY Knicks are the highest valued team in the NBA. They are the worst team in all of sports right now.

This must be Jerry.
