Not singling you out personally but this line of thinking that sending a guy home isnt punishment is comes from 9-5 factory or shift work mentality.

In my profession and in pro sports being sent home is embarrassing and more than that it puts the players or employees future in jeopardy.

Too many people here looking for public lashings and blood.

In a profession that has a career span of about 3 years on average getting sent home is more impacting to the player than most can understand.

So I'm interested, what profession would that be and in what way is it more embarrassing then actually being cut or benched or designated ineligible for a game or just plain old run till you puck all over your own cleats and then you run some more, in those puck stained cleats, LOL......

Maybe it was different back in the day?

Yea he sounds like a bit..........you know. I know you cant go off of that but for a DT? I dont know about that. Sound like a damn kicker
I'd feel guilty if I was judging him off a single data point. When you add it on top of the stuff that happened in college and his pathetic play so far this season then it's natural to start formulating an image of who he really is.

I'm just curious what's going to happen when Marinelli is retired next year because that's the dude he was making all the promises to.

This isn't nearly the dramatic issue people are making it out to be. These aren't the first players to be late to a meeting with the Cowboys or any other team. The fact the media wrote about it doesn't somehow make it different.

He’s grown and owned up to it, Woods has been a great locker room guy not sure where all this slander is coming from. Hill on the other hand declined to comment which makes it worse lol

Woods: I'm sorry, won't happen again. I respect the coach's decision.

On the contrary John. This is the kind of thing we never need to see. I have no problem sending them home, I have a big problem with our most important interior DL and a 2nd round rookie, who has done little to justify the selection thus far, showing up late for meetings.

Perhaps we live in competely different stratospheres but isn't obvious that when players are late for meetings they need to be repremanded? After all, isn't this part of the problem with our team? When things like this happen the hammer needs to fall end of story. My original statement was in regards to giving kudos to the cowboys organization for giving out punishment and if you think being sent away from practice isn't punishment I won't waste anymore time trying to persuade you. This makes these guys look irresponsible in the eyes of their peers and if they have their act together at all they will learn from these mistakes, or LET GO>

Jerry should force Rookies to live at the Star...
There are condos/houses down the street where most players live. I always see them head that way when I leave the gym...it's like 5 minutes away. I doubt very few players live outside of the Frisco/Plano/Colony area. It's not like the old days where a lot of players lived in North Dallas and commuted to Las Colinas.

So they went home, smoked out, played video games, and ate Cheetos.

Way to show them.
I'll give you points for humor erod, but these guys are professionals or learning how to be, so being sent home isn't something they want on their resume, and if they don't care this will be good indicators that they should be cut. The question is has the FO learned from it's mistakes and possibly taking some responsibility for the country club circus that enables these guys.

??? So you show up to late for work. And your boss rewards you by giving you the rest of the paid day off. I would fine the crap out of them.
well, not really....now everyone knows about their discipline issues. they probably won't be as much part of the game plan, it all adds up to their marketability. teams pay for dedicated, hard working. players like Brown with all the talent in the world, get cut because they are disruptive.....it impacts their pockets....specially if it continues....
