I hope he did like Romo did, and made it contingent upon an upgrade to the middle of the line. Sean Lee is smart, no way he doesn't know how much big dudes up front help him to not take such a beating.

Sean Lee is a great player and a great human being, I hope he is part of the organization forever. But there is also a practical side of this situation, Lee was facing the pay cut no matter what. The Front Office and his agent would have the conversation about a pay cut at some point and probably wouldn't directly threaten to cut him, but he wasn't going to make 7 Million next season as a part time player.

3.5 Million in salary is probably where they were going to settle at anyway, Lee was smart to get out in front of the issue and put the number out early on to avoid tense negotiations.

Lee's actions are indicative of a guy willing to do what it takes to both play and remain with the team he calls home.

I realize it's sarcasm but now that you brought it up, it made me wonder how the whole Jaylon Smith throwing up the X thing goes over. Maybe Lee and Dez talked it out after the whole "snake" comment. I do know that Jaylon and Lee have a great mentor-mentee relationship so I doubt Jaylon would pay homage on national TV to somebody that threw his mentor under the bus unless the whole situation has been squashed.

If the front office doesn't make Lee a LBer coach as soon as he retires they're dumber than I thought.

Smart guys like these you just don't let go. And if I were coach, I'd almost make it mandatory for every LBer
to have to be in the film room every time Lee is in there.

You've all heard the expression "information is power" - Lee def has - he knows that he might not be as physically gifted as other LBers but he more than makes up for it with his knowledge of his opponent.
