Tell us again how the Vikings were “gearing up to stop Zeke” and THAT is why he struggled.

Tell us again that they “dared Dak” to beat them and that’s the only reason he played well.

Tell us again that Ezekiel Elliott should continue to be the focal point of the offense despite Dak’s career year.

Go ahead.

They did.

The problem with the guys in the box stat is that it doesn't take into account when Dallas plays 3 receivers or more.

Imagine a team putting 8 in the box when we're rolling out 3 or 4 receivers.

Their gameplan was to not let Zeke beat them. IT worked.

Yeah I didn't get all the commentary about us running into 8 man boxes. Some posters were even claiming that we were running into 9 man boxes lol. Fact is the run blocking sucks against good defenses. I don't know why Columbo continues to get a pass here.

That is misleading. The Vikings keyed on Zeke the whole game. What I dont understand is why we did not run any misdirection plays like we did vs the Eagles.

Eye test tells me the online wasn’t blocking well enough. I saw zeke getting contacts in the backfield quite a few times.

That doesn’t excuse the poor play. But to put it all on zeke is a bit ridiculous.

one of the best RBs in football Barkley has had back to back poor games. I still think zeke is fine. He’s a workhorse.

Go ahead and explain that.

How do you know they were “gearing up to stop Zeke” since the # of players in the box doesn’t tell us that they did?

I’m sure you have something concrete, and I’m all ears.

You guys are correct

Dak couldn't beat the vikings, the clueless Cowboys coaches, and his own defense Sunday night..

The vikes dared him to defeat all 3 and he failed

Yall are right about that

Sure he did.

The problem is you have a baby's understanding of football, where the quarterback is a magical hero figure who wins or loses games by themselves. In reality what quarterbacks do is produce passing offense, which Dak did better than anybody in the league this weekend.

The team lost in spite of that because the defense, special teams and run game were ALL complete trash, none of which Dak had any crontrol over.

I watched the game.

This stat is so meaningless.

Let's say a team is in 5 wide but they know the QB is going to run a draw.

They still have to respect the 5 receivers on the field. They can't just put 8 in the box. You have to respect the offenses formation.

Offenses formations dictate defensive formations.

You can play heavy run defense without bringing another player up into the box. It's a mentality more then anything.

Here you go. Now scamble to explain how the man in the box stats means jack squat. A run blitzing LB or safety shooting the gaps are not in your stupid box you want to cling to.

Jones said Zimmer’s game plan made it impossible for Ezekiel Elliott and the Cowboys to run on the Vikings.

“Well I give Mike Zimmer and his staff a lot of credit. You basically could’ve put a sign on the
start of the game that said, ‘Zeke’s not going anywhere,’ and that was the story of the game. He designed a plan to win the game that way.

This tells me the O-Line stunk it up. My eye test saw them key on Zeke consistently and made it their mission to not let him beat them.

They “geared up to stop him” but that didn’t reflect the actual defensive alignment?

Okay.

And I guess that means they had zero respect for Dak’s passing ability?

No matter what alignment they were in and no matter what they did after the snap?

Hahahahaha your proof is a Jerry Jones quote postgame.

Hahahahahahaha

OR... the Vikings knew their DL would win up front and they trusted their guys to corral Zeke WITHOUT needing to load the box?

And we paid a handsome new contract to a guy who can’t do ANYTHING vs a good defense that we can’t dominate up front?

He doesn't have space to operate in most of the time.

When he does he usually goes and hunts down the safety instead of running to daylight which I can not stand and he is clearly coached to do that because he does it every time he's into the secondary.
