Are you like me and feel that Garrett needs to go no matter what? Or can he achieve something this year to save his job? I want him gone. We could pull off the unthinkable and win a Super Bowl and I would probably still want him gone.
I think he needs to go, but no matter, sure we will get all excited about the change (maybe) or at least have optimism again only to continue to be disappointed by Jerrys puppet strings again after a year or two. Round and Round we go.

Also the teams window of opportunity is closing.

We are half way through Dak, Zeke, and the OL's careers.

We haven't won anything other than a few NFCE titles and a wildcard game.

Not good.
the window closes pretty quick in the nfl today and you are right there is pretty close to being shut garrett had to huge opportunities in 14 and 16 and he spit the big in both 17 pretty much showed what a dunce he was as a head coach

Get ready to be surprised because media/fans are done with this guy and Jerry knows there's no sales job that will change our minds.
Done! Especially considering the fact that we know good and damn well we arent getting close to the super bowl. Hes finished. And even if we won a chip id want him gone. Theres a plethora of coaches who would kill for our roster. This man was gifted a top 10 qb in his prime. What first year coach has ever been gift wrapped a top 10 qb in their prime?

Get to the Super Bowl or he's gone.

As it is, I don't see them making the playoffs

Realistically you think he has to get to the Super Bowl or is the NFCCG sufficient for Jerry?

I think since we haven't been to the NFCCG in 24 years that if we just get a taste of that game that will satisfy Jerry.

I think if he gets to the championship game hes safe unfortunately. A divisional loss hes gone imo.

The only way he saves his job is if he shows a completely different coaching style. Both Jerry and Stephen have made public statements that they felt the team looked "predictable". If JG comes out and shows an offense and a defense that confuses the other team in addition to getting us deep in the playoffs then he stays. If he continues to revert back to his conservative ways then he will be gone.

We definitely had that in our first 3 wins. First time I'd seen that in over a decade. All, I want to know is where in the H E double hockey sticks did it go? :(

Guarantee you Harbaugh is going to get a chip while Lamar Jackson is on his rookie deal just like they did with Flacco.

Garrett not only wasted a prime QB in Romo, he also wasted a young cheap core. He had 3 years to win while Dak, Zeke, Jaylon, Amari (relatively), Dlaw, etc. were making pennies. All will have huge contracts after this season.

Yes, get a talented team to the NFC championship game. He has enough talent to do so. I’m not even asking for a Super Bowl because anything can happen in the final 4.

Garrett lost his job in my eyes in Atlanta. One of the worst jobs I have ever seen of any coach preparing for a game.

I tolerate him because I don't think he's going anywhere and am not sure how much of a difference another HC could make under the circumstances. My biggest surprise of this season would be Booger not extending Garrett.
He lost the job after the clock hit zero against the eagles in 2013 week 17. Think about how long ago that was and how inexcusable that is

In a league that requires every possible advantage we lack one of the most important ingredients: COACHING. In my opinion I think hes done in Dallas. I saw a stat that hes 1-13 without Romo and Dak. That's horrible.

Super Bowl or bust IMO! He is just another Marvin Lewis at this point.

Really? Think people will stop buying tickets and merch?

Zordy, this forum is not a true reflection of the fandom, we are far more critical and care more here than the average fan. Going to a Cowboys game is an entertainment event as much as a football game and Booger had that in mind when they were designing the stadium. It is an entertainment venue that just happens to have a football field in the middle of it.

He knows he's beyond the fans and bulletproof and the Cowboys games are just one part of that venue's revenue stream.

And don't think people calling sports talk shows are the people that financially support the football team part of that venue. There is no owner of any sports franchise less dependent on the mood of his fans. We'd like to think fans matter but they do not. He will put his comfort level above that of any of the fans.
