The Cowboys are heading to Foxboro. They may lose, but they may win. The Patriots aren't at 100 percent, but they are still very good.
REGARDLESS of whether they win or lose, Cowboys fans will know once and for all if Dak Prescott is the future. How Dak measures up and plays versus Belichick's defense will tell all as far as Dak's ability to play versus marquee teams.
If Dak turns in a solid game, he will show that he is the man that the Cowboys can count on to play well against any opponent.
If he turns in a 3 interception performance and struggles to hit the open receiver, he will have reinforced the doubts of those who feel that something is missing in his game.
This is the week Cowboys fans have been waiting for.
Probably other fans, as well. After Sunday, there will be no doubt.
After three years as the starter, it's a fair test.
Oh, give me a break.

If Dak does well in this game, the next argument will be, "if we clone the '85 Bears defense and we replace Dak's receivers with Pop Warner players and he still does well, then he may be the man the Cowboys can count on. It's a fair test."

We also have to maintain realistic expectations for what is or isn’t a good game against the Patriots current defense.

If Dak completes 60% of his passes for like 200 yards and 7 ypa. With a touchdown and zero turnovers. THAT is a good game against the Patriots defense, in Foxboro.

it might not be enough to win. But it’s a good game against a defense that good, on the road in a tough environment.

but make no mistake. It’s going to take a TOTAL TEAM EFFORT for the cowboys to have a chance to win on Sunday.

It's an important game against a great opponent. Nothing more, nothing less.

I don't think this game has a whole lot of significance as far as Dak's future. However, I can see this game effecting Garrett's future a lot. If Dallas is embarrassed by NE, makes a lot of mental errors and looks outclassed and outcoached I can see the finger of blame heading back in Garrett's direction again. On the other hand, if the Cowboys should win, or take this game down to the wire, it gives Jerry an excuse not to fire him.
I might be wrong, but I think the decision on JG keeping his job will be closely related to his success/failure in the playoffs. I think JJ has had a "come to Jesus" moment with JG and is at the point that JG has to at least get to the NFCCG to keep his job. JMO, of course.

I can see the excuses are already being prepared... but, but Dak has already proven that if you let him stand in the pocket all by himself against a tomato can defense, that he can “carry the load”. Why should be have to do it against a team with a pulse? Aren’t the playoffs filled with bad defenses too?

What a stupid post

He’s already the future because they don’t have anyone else and he’s played great.

no its a 16 game season and more test ahead IE Bills, Rams, Bears eagles plus hopefully playoff games.. technically you make the playoffs and put team on your back and say take your team to its first NFCCG in 25years, id say that seals your fate..

BTW Fate is the wrong word, hes getting new deal, its for how much$ and for how long and guaranteed money hes actually playing for.. not IF but how its structured..

the FO is not letting him go..period

I disagree. We still aren't using Pollard as much as we should. We continue to run Zeke into a brick wall instead of trying get him space. We have Witten out there instead of Jarwin. Plus Dak can have an amazing game but lose still because our Hotboyz are terribad.

a cementitious product (cement) is mixed with water and aggregates to make concrete. In its natural state cement is just a powder. I work in concrete every day and people have been using that term incorrectly forever.

Why would anyone use only 1 game or event to seal his future. Why wouldn't we look at his entire body of work especially since its all been here?

Leeblair is shameless in trying to make things seem more dramatic than they are.

It certainly will in some people's minds.
Of that we can be sure.

Because we live in a short-term, microwave, drone-delivery-capable, knee-jerk world.

There is no longer any reasonable, long-term view.
