Did 21 get benched for a drive?

We all watched the same game. 21 was playing like an old white turd in the grass. He suddenly got "benched" and Pollard made the best of an opportunity.

Or, JG wanted to give the NFL's highest paid RB some rest......I'm not buying it.

I think with Elliott now having half of the games with 65 or less yards, Garrett with the pressure of his job at stake, wants to find out if the low rushing totals is Elliott or the line. Everyone can have a bad game but to have half of the games subpar. Yesterday Elliott had 16 carries for 45 yards and a 2.8 yards per carry, Pollard had 2 carries for 12 yards for a 6 yards per carry. Yes that's a small sample for Pollard but he has produced when he's gotten in there when Elliott has not. I think it tells something that on the 2 point conversion it was Pollard who was in there to run it in and not Elliott.

Lastly Elliott has had drives off since he was a rookie so it was not uncommon for Pollard to get his series, but again that 2 point conversion tells a lot for me.

I believe this was a result of the stupid NFL rule that says if a network has the doubleheader (which was CBS), the other networks are not allowed to broadcast another game if the team from the home market (Texans) are playing at the same time..regardless if it's a home or away game. But, I agree with you....these NFL rules are stupid!!

I think you're part right. If the team in your market is playing at home the network covering the game can only have 1 game if it's that networks week for a doubleheader. If the local team is on the road that network can and will show 2 games that day. The other network if the local team is home can show one game and is the opposite start time as the home team. If the local team is on the road and the other network has the doubleheader they can show both games. If the local team is playing on Thursday or Sunday night whether home or away it doesn't affect what games are shown by either network.

This is silly. Zeke plays as hard as anyone in the league. What the heck is wrong with Cowboys “fans”?

I don't think anyone is questioning if Elliott isn't try his hardest, but there's a difference between trying your hardest and actually producing.

This was the first game the Cowboys have won where Zeke was held to under 50 yards rushing.

You haven't noticed a difference in his style and production? Perhaps the OL just isn't run blocking like they used to......

You don’t see the relation to our passing game being wide open? Teams are clearly loading up to stop the run thinking Dak can’t burn them. They are finding out quickly that he can.

I guess 21 gets benched every game then. Usually it's in the 3rd quarter.

So you’re suggesting he forgot how to run the football? Do you think it could be possible teams are loading up against the run allowing our passing game to run wild?

Are you trying to look foolish? Nobody said or suggested or implied that Elliott has forgotten how to run the football. Teams have loaded the box against him since his rookie season but he still led the league in rushing 2 out of 3 years. I've said it many times that the line is not the same line he had in 2016 and has been banged up this season. On the other hand with that same line Pollard has come in and gained more yards per rush than Elliott. So why has Elliott not produced but Pollard has? Also it's a telling thing for me that on an important 2 point conversion yesterday it was Pollard who was in there and ran it in and Not Elliott.

Gee and I'll mention on one play against the jets Elliott lost 6 yards. Yesterday Elliott had 16 attempts and just 45 yards and Pollard had 2 carries for 12 yards. Now which one had a better average per carry? I also wouldn't be bragging up Elliott in the vikings game with 20 carries for 47 yards and a paltry 2.4 yards per rush.

The whole run game needed to be benched for a drive. No holes and no yards for 2 weeks now.
