The more I follow Jones the more I doubt he built his empire on his own. No way you can be this inept at GM yet be a world class business man. If Dallas was Jones business and he had a guy like Garrett running it? Jerry would be BROKE!

He won a playoff game with the Browns...probably more qualified than a Chan Gailey at that point. But we know Jerry wouldn't have given him any control, fresh off of the Jimmy divorce so it wouldn't have mattered.

And people think he would have had the same success here? No, he wouldn't have. He wouldn't have had the authority he needed in Dallas thanks to the lunatic owner.
He would have bolted after the first contract was up. He wouldn't take the Jets job because Kraft was offering him power to pick his own players. He suffered in CLE because the lack of control.

Does Matt Cassel 11 win season in 2008 when Brady was injured not count?
Was it Belichicks fault, that Patriots missed the playoff with 11 wins?
Yes. If you're a "genius head coach" it shouldn't matter. Ravens won a Super Bowl with Trent Dilfer at QB.

The fact he bought a football team for $140 million and now it's worth almost $5 billion suggests otherwise.

jerry's strength as a businessman is he sees the "big picture". the new stadium. the star facility. his real estate holdings and development. his recent stock market purchases, etc. the job of a gm is more nuts and bolts. jerry just isn't as good at this as seeing the overall picture. the problem is he won't give up the position.

Lmao, youre ridiculous...I be willing to bet 11 wins is a playoff appearance over 95 % percent of the time.

A lot of teams are poorly run but their owners are still Billionaires so being good in one does not necessarily make you good in the other. You have to be good at something for the most part to have the money, and a lot of it, to own a team.
