I'm not even going to read the rest of this thread.

Fire him, after his third 8-8.

I know why Jerry doesn't want to do it. He's scared of the reset.

We get mad here and say it's because Jerry has a puppet and wants him forever and ever.

That's not so. Jerry completely screwed the pooch with Switzer, and made a double down mistake by firing Gailey before Chan honestly proved what he could or couldn't do.

Campo was so bad there wasn't a choice.

But after the Wade collapse, Garrett was...just...good enough to give Jerry hope. He was scared to make the Gailey mistake, to go too far too fast. He chose to do what Clint did with Lanrdy in the early days and give him room and leeway.

Problem was, Garrett's not Landry, not Gailey, not any of the other guys. He might be able to motivate or inspire players, but as an X's and O's guys he's never been even mediocre.

Jerry's to be commended for sticking with someone and giving him a chance. But it was the wrong someone, and he's trying to make up for past errors.

Believe it or not, how many posters on the internet agree with me has zero bearing on how I see things. And to answer your question: there is no doubt that Jason is at the very least a pretty good NFL HC. That won’t change if Jerry doesn’t extend him. I’d expect him to get a job right away and do well. If we miss the playoffs with this roster, he won’t have done a good job of coaching this season. This team is talented enough to win the NFC outright. He’s in a prove it year. He needs to win. Nothing different than I’ve said all along.

The nonsense that’s going on in here right now, though, is just so much disappointed noise. I don’t even listen to it, I have so little regard for the opinion of the mob. It’s the exact same voice that screamed at us that Dak couldn’t play QB at a high level in this league as recently as three months ago. Remember that? Because I do.
You're dreaming. Garrett will NOT get a job as a HC in the league after he is let go. Of course Jerry will help him save face by promoting him to the FO and then continue to say that Jason had offers.

Sure he would. We’ll see what happens eventually.

Just thinking about that day coming up in January when they announce that Garrett won't be returning. It's going to be insane, the fanbase will be celebrating, CZ will be great that day. Obviously still a long way to go as just getting rid of him won't solve everything but it might be the best day as a fan since that 2009 season playoff win vs. Philly to break the drought. Enjoy it folks!

The site's servers are going to fail because of all the traffic coming in that day. CZ will shut down. Too many happy fans rejoicing.

That is another thing that has bothered me for a while now, why are they even giving Dak 2 play calls on 3rd and 1 with the game on the line there?

To me it goes back to their mentality of this is how we do things, never changing much up.

He should have been under center and handed it to Zeke period. The Pats pass defense was good all game, and Dallas had run it well all day.
But how long have we been preaching this as a fan base,, that's what is so frustrating,, we are what are and always will be, a fan base with out a voice ,
and the Dallas Cowboys will be what they have been, fortunate to have crossed paths with Jimmy Johnson, and steady decline since then, Barry Switzer ate a hot dog..
Sometimes I day dream, not about fishing, lol, but I daydream of how great this franchise could be, how many more championships they would have had, if they had just checked in to the collective... what is the collective... its a huge data base of knowledge and different opinions found right....here.
A Dallas Cowboys message board that has collected more data, bad memories and stats than probably the franchise has done itself... nah who am I kidding...lol
But I will tell you what, if I were an owner, a participant in the biggest game one earth, which is the NFL, I would be paying someone full time to be logged in to this forum, maybe a couple others, even if all I was gaining was a perspective feel from the fan base,
Just seems funny to me these days after looking back over the years, how it all just seems so pointless, paying fools loads of cash, when collectively, if you have a decent filter, that the overall fan base actually knows better.
Collective thought always outweighs and outplays those that are privileged to be chosen to make the sole decision.. except for Bill..lol
and He is an alien.

It’s just an ongoing joke at this point. Ownership will have to wake up someday .. or not?!

I am so tired of the gutless 4th-down decisions.
First drive. Punt on 4th and 1.
Second drive. Try long FG into the wind on 4th and 6.
Sixth drive. Kick a FG on 4th and 5 inside the Patriots' 10.
Eighth drive. Punt on 4th and 1.
Tenth drive. Kick a FG on 4th and 7 at the Patriots' 11.

This is why everything has to go exactly right on that last drive. This is why you can't overcome a bad call or a blocked punt. Because you don't try.

You might accept some of the decisions above, but the totality is damning.
I would rather loose a game like this playing with all my cards on the table rather than folding with aces in my hand.

This is beyond obvious that we have the most conservative coach that may go down historically as being just that...

Jason Garrett, the most underachieving coach in the history of the game to loose while having top talent, under achieving, under executing.

Some of the best talent on this team for over the last 20 plus years, and this team fails to execute.

I don't want to hear the tears of the crying excuse makers that we have no interior DTs, and safety is weak.

So what?

Every team in this league has a weakness, do I really need to explain it again?

Im not pointing the finger at this fan base,, this post is actually recognizing how common the thought process is to succeed, and just how truly transparent this staff is.

Get Urban Meyer, Troy Aikman and Jason Witten to run the team next year. Maybe Tony...if he would take a price cut!!

shouldn't this be it's own "forum/site" and not just a thread?

This whole thing is tough as a fan. You want to win a SB no matter who the coach is...Campo, Wade, Garrett. That’s what fans do! If we won this year I’d be ecstatic even though I’m not a JG guy.

The issue though is we’ve seen this script before. I mean Jerry has been patient. His first three years were training years...then we needed the right people around him..now we have talent etc. But each season ends the same and I never feel like JG can get over the hump. So unless a miracle happens I don’t see how you just run the same guy out next year. The Jones family is afraid to start over but in this league you don’t have to start over. Don’t waste the talent. Get the best guy and run with it

Don't bother. @Idgit would have excuse for JG even if we find out JG kills puppies for fun.

In general, people who have only stupid or only emotionally dramatic things to say should not bother running them by me, yes. I’m not sympathetic if the person is over 8 years old. If you’re 8 or younger, I’ll work with you to help you toughen up. Not you, specifically, Zman. I just mean conceptually.

The fact that some posters here are so tightly wound that they get *mad* at me—some random guy on the internet posting under a fake username—I find hilarious, for the record.

I don't know about others but I was never mad "at" you. I just disagree with your opinion and can't understand your blind unconditional loyalty to JG. It' almost religious like to my eyes. Which is somewhat amusing and frightening at the same time. But overall, I just like to egg you on. It's all in good fun.
