When it's, it's over.

Make peace with it now @Idgit

Like I always say, I’ll get right behind the next guy if I believe in him. Or I’ll say a few times what I don’t like if I don’t and then quit *****ing about it.

If it’s a really bad hire, I’ll lose some interest in the games. That’s already happening for me since they won’t fix or even address the officiating crisis.

But you told me jerry has already told us what he was going to do and Garrett wasn’t going anywhere. What happened?

...McDaniels would be interesting. I can see him taking the job on a 1 or 2 yr deal.
McDaniels isnt leaving NE. He's next in line there.

It's going to be urban meyer. His offense is perfect for whats in place in Dallas. Hell whats in dallas is perfect for the type of defense he likes too. Meyer makes too much sense not to happen

I actually would be happy with just Jim Harbaugh. Yes he hasn’t been great at Michigan. But he was very successful during his short stint in the NFL and was successful at Stanford.
You mean winning 0 everywhere he has been..Harbsughs own players hated him NOT 1 person in SF wanted to play for him ..no thx

Exciting times ahead here for the Cowboys zone me thinks.

I think the entire fan base gets revitalized.

The best thing for me is that, depending on the hire of course (Jerry could still do something off the wall stupid, Witten as an example) it means if the next guy fails we can fire him!!

That alone is exciting no more decade long Garrett family experiments, results might actually matter again.

Yeah there’s zero evidence to support this. A bunch of players quit and retired after he left actually. And getting to a Super Bowl and 3 NFC championship games in 4 seasons is not 0 winning.

Well, if this tells you anything, I'm a lifelong Wolverine fan and a University of Michigan alum.

And I'd rather have Urban Meyer coaching the Cowboys than Jim Harbaugh, any day and any time.

Harbaugh has grossly underperformed in Ann Arbor. They are playing well right now and have an outside shot at pulling an upset vs Ohio State Saturday, but if Urban Meyer was still coaching the Buckeyes this weekend we'd have zero shot. Zero.

Give me Urban anyday and twice on Sunday. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go wash my mouth out with soap for saying that.
But it's a fact. He's a vastly superior coach to Harbaugh. It isn't even remotely close. I wish it were.

Oh I take Urban Meyer over Harbaugh too. I agree with you. And I am a Penn State alumnus. Lol
So I have no love lost for Ohio State either.

But I take Jim Harbaugh over Jason Garret any day.

especially if Urban Meyer is unavailable.

Pretty sad day when the Wolverines and Nittany Lions are all teaming up to sing the praises of the ex Buckeye coach.....

Not trying to change subject or stir pot, but just curious, what are your feelings on Franklin. is there a general consensus among your fanbase that he's a preferred choice for years to come?

I think it’s a bit divided, as it is with most fan bases when it comes to coaching you know.

I think Franklin has done an excellent job at recruiting and maintaining a solid talent base in the program.

Some of his Game management has caused me a lot of frustration.

For instance, a couple years ago when we still had Saquon. That team should have been in the playoffs. They blew two games in a row against Ohio State and Michigan state. The Ohio State game having a 2 touchdown lead in the 4th quarter with the best running back in college football. And They just shouldn’t have lost to Michigan State that year.

There was also the 4th and 5 run against Ohio State last year.

But I am ok with giving him more time to get over the top.

Fair assessment. Thanks for sharing.

FWIW--I've been very anti Harbaugh for about 2-3 years now. The game that sealed it for me was the Michigan State loss at home in his 3rd year. Tough game, driving rain. We had very sketchy QB play that year (oddly considering Harbaugh came to UM with this legend for "developing" QB's but we've had terrible QB for most of his tenure in Ann Arbor)

And for some reason we threw the ball a ton of times and lost to an abominably bad Michigan State team. I honestly wanted him fired on the field before the post game handshake. IMO, he's been mostly hype and very little substance.

All the "Who's got it better than us" and that bullcrap. Just go win some frigging games. Then tell everyone how good you've got it.
Offseason trips to Rome and South Africa. And we're losing 62-39 against our most hated rival. Incredibly frustrating.

I will give him credit, he finally seems to have taken his archaic claws off the offensive gameplan. Gattis is the guy running the offense right now and they are humming. If we beat Ohio State this Saturday then I will relax my harsh criticism of Harbaugh.

But if we get shelled again, on our own field, when Meyer is not even the guy on the opposite sideline, then there is absolutely no reason to bring him back.
Just re-hire Hoke. At least he was only making half what Harbaugh is making for getting his head kicked in annually vs the Buckeyes. LOL

ANyway, I digress. This is a Cowboys forum.

I want Urban. Bad. I think he would be an incredible hire for Dallas. We'll see I guess. Happy Thanksgiving friend.

I'll tell you what.......research ALL Belichick former assistants who have had NFL head coaching job, add up their records and tell me what you think. I can see what you're saying if we were talking only a couple coaches but that's not the case here.
I agree they haven't been very successful. Just saying that 31 teams have failed to commit to the level of focus and attention to detail to duplicate his success for two decades.

It’s a fair assessment I think of Harbaugh. He has been disappointing since going to Michigan. There is no arguing. Im sure you see far more Michigan games than I do. Having a young kid now, I don’t have time to watch much college football other than finding times for Penn State games. So I would be lying if I said I followed him very closely. Other than of course following the Big 10 as a whole, as much as I can.

I will be rooting for your squad to knock off Ohio State. God I hate them so much.

I am 100% in agreement with you though. Urban Meyer is my top choice as a cowboys fan. I would do back flips if he is hired to replace redball. My only concern about Urban would be his health.

Dak also ran his system in college at Mississippi State. So I’m sure Dak already knows a lot of the terminology and concepts that Meyer would bring.

it just makes sense on many levels.

have a great Thanksgiving and good luck this weekend!

As of now I’m leaning toward Dan Campbell if we go offensive hire and Robert Saleh if we go defensive hire.

Wait and see if Tomlin gets canned in Pittsburgh. But will Jerruh allow a strong head coach?
