If the players have really quit

Fair enough!!!

Every great D starts w/ disruptive DT's.

I love to have someone like Snacks Harrison on this team. But we know that Marinelli just does not care for a mean, nasty DT which is tragic.

But..but.. Dak says their confidence is fine o_O.
Did he lie?
Of course....he’s supposed to say that. That’s Dak too,he’ll fight to the end. He himself may be more confident than the team,it doesn’t really matter ...this isn’t important really now. Everyone knows the realty...this isn’t a stable team anymore, and they’re tumbleweeds in the wind at this point.

Alright well he needs to admit that. Why lie? Everyone knows this team isn’t where it needs to be. Everyone knows this team is suffering and that their confidence is low. So why lie that it’s high when it’s obviously not? A liar isn't confident, so I doubt Dak is as confident as you claim he is.

And this is important. This may be a reason why this team is losing. They lack the will, attitude, confidence, passion, integrity, emotions, and inspiration to win games.

Every solid structure begins with a good foundation

I agree. However, what's the foundation of this organization? There is no clear goal, direction, vision, or mission. So, this team is here mired in mediocrity .

This is stupid. Why not right now? What is the point of playing the rest of the way with someone no one wants or believes in and everyone knows he is finished. Like why? Promote anyone. ANYONE! It does not matter. He should have been fired after the Jets game. Inexcusable loss. Although the funny thing is, they are now only 2 back in the win column from us.

We have 0.00000% chance to win it all with him so what is the point? Fire him tonight and maybe it lights some spark. As apathetic as I am to this franchise, playoff football is still fun and this team can still get there.

I don't see quit. I see fat, happy, tired, and apathetic on Thanksgiving. They'd rather be at home with their turkey legs.

The players haven’t quit. They just aren’t good enough. And the coaches aren’t good enough to make up for our personnel deficiencies.

To be fair only the true skeptics saw our offensive line and defense falling this far. But the signs were there.

You’re just working some angle then...he doesn’t need or should say a darn thing but what he is. When they are mathematically out, then you can give a more honest answer to questions and thoughts, but for him when there’s still chances,no he’ll go to the end. Why would you want your QB being a quitter? That’s not what you want him to do..get up there and go,”Yeah,we suck and will stay sucky.”

I don't know about completely quitting on JG but players have tuned him out. As bad as JG is, he usually wins a game when his back is against the wall. The way they played today, he's not getting through most of the players. His message has been lost. He even looks like he doesn't care.

I don’t want him to be a quitter. I want him to show some damn grit! Going into the locker room with that same soft spoken attitude ain’t gonna get it done. Going up to the podium and sprouting the same “happiness, rainbows, and we have confidence” speech after every loss isn’t working either. It’s okay to show anger. It’s okay to admit this team has lost some confidence. Everyone (besides Bennett obviously) on this team has that same happy go lucky attitude that doesn’t work in football. This team is so consent with losing it’s ridiculous. I’ve never seen a professional sports team so content with losing in such embarrassing fashions week in and week out. He likely has a large voice and influence in that locker room. He should use it properly.

It's because they're trying to run a scheme that doesn't work and are frustrated. It's really hard to keep doing what the coaches are telling you to do when you know it doesn't work, and that there is a better way.

:clap:I believe this is the case.
When your colleagues and friends on other teams are continuously telling you, "Dog, yall scheme is straight vanilla. We call your plays in OUR huddle," that can wear on you. When you see Frederick yelling at the sideline about play selection, that tells you all you need to know.
I refuse to believe that these players are overrated. And it shows when players leave for other teams.
I think the players have just had enough. I predict the Washington game is the only one left we win.

Although this isn't the best D like ever, it's not terrible. The funny thing is, all they need to do is fix DT and S and we might be top 5. However, we just refuse. Very strange stuff. We'll sell the farm for a CB or WR, but won't pay a DT or S more than a plugged nickel. This is exactly backwards of the way of thinking that brings in super bowl contention.
All one has to do is look at Chicago’s D since Hicks went out. Night and day.

Yea I agree something bout the way zeke isn’t running hard o line now cnt run block the line backers always washed out secondary never looking for the ball and we always have single high safety

I dont believe the scheme has anything to do with it. This defense is and has been overrated. They lack the consistent interior push and are pushed around in the ground game as well. This is a player issue. Same at the safety spot.

Please, the defensive coaches are the ones that have been saying they don’t need a big massive DT to help collapse the pocket and they’re the ones that have been saying they don’t need better safety play either.

They are just as culpable.

I don't see it as quitting but I don't think they want to play. They're not playing well and when the media circus arrives, we've seen players check out before. Booger loves it because they're talking about him but we saw how one Cowboys team responded when they had to clinch in PHL in the last game.

It's interesting to see this all focus on Garrett. Do you think he wanted to promote Moore and go into his last year with him as his OC.

I do not think it's as much players quitting as players overvalued by many posters here and the owner.

One thing I have noticed about the defense this year is they are playing like 3 separate units instead of one cohesive unit. It's almost like the LB's aren't communicating with the DL or the DB. This is true with the DB's not communicating with the LB's. I don't know if they are practicing as separate units more then they are practicing together, but something is definitely different. One poster may have said it earlier, but you can't have an unlimited amount of assistant/positional coaches. At some point, the DC has to be able to make the defense work as one unit. That just doesn't seem to be the case this year. How many times have you seen a defensive player look at another one like, "Seriously dude? Where were you on that play?" On top of that, the opposing OL is continuously getting to the second level and taking the LBs out of the play. Either that, or the LBs take themselves out of the play with crap angles and bad gap choices. This whole, stop the run on your way to the QB doesn't work. Once the opposing RB gets behind our DL, his OL has already taken out our LBs and he goes for 10-20 yards before being pulled down. I can't tell you how many times this year, one of our defenders has run right past the opposing RB. It's embarrassing to watch.
On the OL, there seems to be no cohesion either. It honestly looks like they are lost at times. I understanding getting beat by the DL on plays... it happens... but completely whiffing on an assignment is unacceptable. How many times have we seen Zeke hit a millisecond after being handed the ball? How many times have we seen Dak get pressured before hitting the third step of his drop? On top of that, my 10 year old daughter (who doesn't even watch football) could tell you when the Boys are going to run. The play is telegraphed 90 percent of the time.
If the Boys bring in a new Coach... I hope he can bring in his own staff. This experiment has failed miserably.
You know how you can tell the Boys are dysfunctional? When lifelong fans can't tell you with certainty who the DC and OC are for the team. Is Moore calling the plays he wants, or is Garrett telling him what to call? Is Richard calling the Def or is Marinelli telling him what to call? In all honesty, it appears Marinelli is calling the Def for the DL, and Richard is calling it for the LB and DB. Either way, the defense has looked like a monkey molesting a football for most of the season.

Defense is broke.

where was Quinn tonight?

Defense forced 3 Bills punts and didn't allow any points after a Dak fumble at our own 30 yard line. The D played decent, they got a bit worn down late but played well enough had our offense done anything in the game after our 1st drive of the game (the late TD was just some garbage time points)

You do realize that is part of the scheme , smaller St and putting S position at bottom of needs

4 games in a row with zero turnovers.

that isn’t good defense.

that is 1/4 of an entire season without a single turnover. That is abhorrent.

This whole notion that players quit really is overblown. Guys hang their heads, that's it. Its common and happens all the time late in games.

Now for a instant last night, I actually felt sorry for Garrett. These players play horrid for him. They really play bad.

But at the end of the day, that is the big problem with Garrett. "HE DOES NOTHING". He basically gives his speeches, claps, and leaves it up to everyone else to do their jobs. There is NO plan, leadership, or button pushing. NO agenda, no tough leadership, nothing. We all see him just sit there on the sidelines all day long doing nothing but looking dumb and clap. He rarely interacts with his players at all.

He simply expects everyone do to their jobs. And when things go wrong he really has no clue whatsoever how to fix it or what to do. Garrett has no business at all being a HC in the NFL. Certainly no business running an offense in the NFL. I cant comment on the stupidity of other owners, but I would think that Garrett would never get a HC gig in the NFL again.
