Y’all think Jerrys comment about “redemption” after is related to this speech by Bennett? If so then MB was addressing the whole group, not just players but the coaches, players, and Jerry. I think this might be why he was ready eyed when talking to the players.

Jerry knows he’s the root cause of this stooper this team has been in with Garrett. It really is super bowl or bust this year for him.

This highlighted passage hits the nail right on the head, even if he’s not on the team next year I think he’s respectfully illuminated some of the issues we’ve all felt existed.

https://sports.yahoo.com/yelling-fr...michael-bennetts-encouragement-045516610.html

“We’ve got all the great players. The only thing we’ve got to do is execute in adversity. The enemy against greatness is the unwillingness to change. We’ve got to be able to change some of the things that we’ve been doing to demand more from ourselves and become the people we want to be.

When one of the Bennett brothers is the leader in the locker room after 4 games, then you know you have real problems.

I keep hearing about “all the great players” yet a lot of what I see losing games for us are poor tackling, guys getting out run, and man handled, fumbles, etc. What I see are delusional players and fans who are still drinking from the Jerry and media fountain of crap about the alleged “talent” on this team (mostly on the defensive side of the ball).

What you see is bad coaching and leadership from the top to the bottom. These players think they have all arrived before they even accomplish anything on the field.

Like these idiots calling themselves "hot boyz". Perfect example.

As another poster said, I definitely think it’s a combination of both and I don’t care if Rom Landry were standing on the sidelines, a lot of these “talented” players would still be making the same costly mistakes and just getting straight up beat out.

This right here. Players are not as good as we make them out to be. Especially on the defensive side of the ball.

Some of us on this site try to educate the overzealous types all offseason and even into training camp. Most don't listen. Then throw a fit when reality hits.

I have tried to clue some into the apparent demise of Zeke well before this season started. They get mad and call me bad names. LOL

This defense did absolutely NOTHING in the offseason to improve other than draft a 2nd round DT. Why would ANYONE expect different results?

There were a ton is holdouts, injuries and surgeries resulting in guys missing TC. The theme from many people was "they will all be fine". Tried to tell them it doesn't work like that. Deaf ears.

I though they had pretty good players but I have changed my mind on that now they are a lot like the coaches clowns

There’s nobody in this organization who DEMANDS excellence. It has to come from the top down. We all know the top isn’t changing so the best we can hope for is a coach who can manage Jerry. But you absolutely have to have a few leaders on each side of the ball who aren’t going to put up with any bs slacking off in practice.

Players have to play great to be great. Otherwise, they are what they are.

Sure, but that's not the point. All players get beat. But we have played a lot of close games this year where coaching would have made all the difference. Things happen too slowly around here and it creates a lag. Better schemes, better adjustments a coach that keeps the players tendencies in check. Its actually keeping the players mentally challenged and motivated each and every week in different ways. Keeping their attention and making them realize they have not arrived. And once they think they have, is when the problems start.

Garrett is horrid in this regard. They all get cocky. And at some point, when they need uplifiting, he isnt there either. Look, its Bennet doing it. Jerry Jones is crying in the lockeroom. There is a serious void at the HC position.

But I agree that a player like Byron Jones isn't all of a sudden going to become a ball hawking corner with another coach.

Yep..………….a puppet, players coach, laid back, take no command, yes man like Garrett is the EXACT opposite of the kind of coach that Jerry needs. You need a fiery coach that is going to demand the things he needs and steer Jerry away from doing stupid things.

“We’ve got all the great players.” Therein lies the problem. Fostered right from the top.

where? Where are all of these great players? What in the HELL have all these “great players” done or won in this league?

I’m not defending howdy doody the head coach, but culture, talent, coaching aren’t up to snuff - in that order

If the players have talent which we been told for years, then it is obviously the coaching. Which we know is bad.
But in reality it is actually both. Bad coaching and overrated players.

It’s effort. They have no effort. A few do and then the ones that don’t drag the team down. And JJ and JG allows it.

I kept watching Elliot coming through the holes and falling over, he used to explode through and was to the second level.

While we tend to overrate our players sometimes, the opposite often happens as well. When we’re not playing well, all of a sudden the team has poor talent. There is plenty of talent on this team.

You don't lose for 25 years based on the talent of 1 team or 1 coach. You lose for 25 years because something is systemically wrong. I remember way back when Barry Switzer was the coach and the team started to fade, there were rumors that Switzer was unable to discipline players for mistakes because Jerry Jones would intervene. Jerry had certain players who were his "pals" that were untouchable. I am not talking about off the field mistakes.

There is no discipline on this team because the team does not demand discipline. No one gets after player for making mistakes. Winning teams do not shoot themselves in the foot constantly like Dallas does. And again, this is not something new to this team. Its been a problem for multiple coaches and lots of players since Jimmy Johnson left.

I can't post the source tweet but this is greatness. Make Bennett Coach.
:clap::clap::clap:

In fiery locker-room speech, Cowboys DL Michael Bennett challenged teammates to raise bar.
"The enemy against greatness is the unwillingness to change. We’ve got to be able to change some of the things that we’ve been doing to demand more from ourselves."

Wow. A philosopher. Who would have thought. He's right on.

The stunting/play the run on way to QB on the D side, coupled with the " dog chase cat" don't look for the ball DB play isn't getting us anywhere.

I think he's directly/indirectly telling C Richard... You know better but go along with this BS
