If we are just throwing big names out there then I’ll throw out Jimmy Johnson. This is the year Jerry finally makes amends with Jimmy and brings him back.

We all know Jimmy would never give up that sweet retirement life so he makes as much sense as anyone else named thus far.

I want Garrett replaced with Marvin Lewis just so I could read the reactions here.

I read the thread title in the context of Jerry standing next to Riley and dwarfing him, lol.

We ALL know a big name coach doesn't want anything to do with the Dallas Cowboys being Jerry will not give him full access to the team.

We ALL know whoever Jerry chooses, will know, they too, won't have full access to the team.

IT'S A CATCH 22

Say what you like, but I really admire Jeffrey Lurie. He's a prime example of being a wonderful and respected Owner/GM.

Well, remember a few years ago when josh mcdaniels turned down the Colts job after accepting it? There is an ascension plan in place in NE. But, since the Patriots don't blab to the media or confirm coaching contracts, its impossible to know anything for certain. But, Belechik may be looking to change up the scenery and establish a legacy that doesn't involve Brady. Why not Dallas and undertake the challenge of resurrecting this franchise?

That would make for some headlines in the offseason, wouldn't it? Jerry does love the media coverage.

Bill Parcells came and worked well with Jerry. This is a lazy take.

what makes riley big? Oklahoma has all kinds of talent and plays no good teams.

Coaching in Dallas you don't get to play against texas tech, kansas, texas, ok. state or tulsa etc...

I honestly dont get the riley thing. designing a good offense is one thing but means nothing when it comes to the nfl.
+1

If JJ keeps trucking as the GM it probably won't matter.

A coach doesn't have to be on the market..he can be traded for...so stop saying said coach isn't available..they're all available if you are willing to pay for it

Dabo enjoys more control over his program than I think Jerry would be willing to give.
No Wake Forest or Georgia Techs in the NFL, I would much rather have a proven NFL coach. College coaches like Urban and Dabo have the superior talent in most of the games they coach , that doesn't happen in the NFL. Sabin had a short unsuccessful stint with the Dolphins, reports from Miami were that the players hated him. People close to the team said Sabin didn't realize he was dealing with grown men and not 19-20 year old kids. It all could be rumors, but we all know being a successful college coach doesn't automatically transfer to the NFL.

Brian Kelly or Matt Rhule will be the next HC. There’s no really big fish to hire. Saban and Belichick is not coming, Dabo is not a big fish, neither is Sean Peyton. Shaw from Stanford is not leaving. I say Kelly because he I great with QBs and a offensive mind he demands excellence from himself his staff and his players and he’s use to playing in a high profile place with a lot of pressure to win. Rhule because he had to go into a high profile place clean up and turn around a place and he’s a very good defensive person.
The key is will Jerry let them hire and fire their own staff
