Why would Bill sign a long term contract? For a man of his success, thats a big concession. Odds are he writes his own ticket and has the freedom to do whatever he wants.........the perks of going to 9 super bowls.
Come on Ron, I have seen many of your post, how bout some substance?
Don't know that answer, but would be interested if he was....
Man, this is too far out there to even comment on John.Come on Ron, I have seen many of your post, how bout some substance?
All right, appreciate you stopping by ! : )Man, this is too far out there to even comment on John.
Nobody knows because the owner has not even made up his mind to get rid of garrett yet. We have seen this before where it looked like he was done then they redo the staff and keep him.
LLOOLL !when they mean big , maybe it's Reid that guy must weigh 400#
Just hoping for Jerry to get desperate to win...
Jerry is only 1 year older than last year when the team was 3-5 and everyone in sports was saying Garrett was a nine year failed experiment. What was Jerry's reaction? Fire Garrett?
Nope, trade a 1st round pick for what very well might be a 1.5 year rental in Cooper to try and save his hand picked coach.
I'm not saying it wouldn't be what is best for the team, but it completely flies in the fact of the absolute narcissist that Jerry is to bring someone of Belichick's stature in the take all of the credit for someone finally winning something in Dallas after literally decades of Jerry trying. I just don't see it.
And again, why is Belichick leaving a rich, hands-off owner in NE to work with Jerry's meddling? For Dak? Really? C'mon.
Yep, I think Jerry has had it, and is ready to make a splash, I am only giving one scenario.I've thought this whole year that Garrett would move into the front office after this season no matter what. Its a better fit for him and it will be more money for less hours on the job.
If that really was the plan, Jerry (and the rest of the FO) are the type to lay the groundwork way ahead of time. Talking to mutual friends, wink and nod conversations with agents, etc.
I think Broaddus is right in that he is hearing Jerry is loading up a huge move on the next HC, not a flavor of the month assistant. It could be someone like Belichick or one of college guys like Saban or Meyer, but it will take a huge financial move to make that happen. And Jerry isn't afraid to do that, he never has.
THIS, It would cement his Legacy on the biggest stage in the NFL.It was determined last year that Dak lacked a true #1 WR thus making it impossible to truly evaluate him as a QB. We lacked a piece to the puzzle and everyone could see the vast improvement Amari made. Imagine what this offense could do with a whole offseason!? That was the logic and this was a "prove it" year.........hence Garret not getting an extension this offseason. Well, its all blown up this season. The team has all the parts it should require and still can't beat anyone good. Jerry didn't have 6-6 in mind when the season began.
For Jerry to fire garret is going to require him to eat enough crowe to make any man humble. Why would Belechik leave? he may not, but there are rumors that he doesn't get along with Brady and he may not want to rebuild a team in NE. Josh McDanials is standing there patiently waiting his opportunity. Why stay? He's got nothing left to prove in NE. Coming to Dallas and ressurecting this franchise would be a much bigger feather in his hat than winning another super bowl in NE. Jerry can pay him just as easilly as Bob Kraft. None of this will be about money. It will be purely about Jerry doing anything to win and Bill wanting a new challenge.
Jerry stepped aside for the Big Tuna, would he do so for the Hoodie?
Don't know ...
Jerry did see what bringing in a real name HC can do when he brought Parcels in after three straight 5/11 seasons and they went 10/6 and made the playoffs.Amen brother. But I have been hoping that for 25 years and if he hasn't seen that light I'm not thinking it is happening anytime soon.
I am also holding out hope his son is not so completely ego driven when he finally does take over, but who knows if that will be true or when that even happens.
not my point, I'm merely looking for a reliable source, not an argument
Jerry stepped aside for Parcells? Maybe for one year. Then he shoved players like Eddie George, Peerless Price and finally TO down his throat. TO was the last straw for Big Bill.
