LOL.

Strong take. Completely wrong, but strong none the less.
Strong in that it's correct, sure. Wentz is getting 36, Brady 35, Goff 34. Dak is so far ahead of all these guys right now that the number will probably be closer to 40, and that's not even accounting for inflation with a rising cap.

Why do so many fans make statements that they would be ok with Dak at $20m per year but not $30m? Does what we are paying him really matter when it comes to what he adds to the team?
All I can say is WOWZERS.

That's an opinion. Nothing more, nothing less.

I think they will sign him and double down on the o line...what's your alternative? Who would you sign?
I think this is what they'll do too. They'll sign Dak then hope that the LG and Center play improves next year (I think Frederick knocking off the rust + McGovern being ready to start will help) + Zeke is still great at pass protection.

The crux of this problem isn't what they pay Prescott, it's what they're paying the OL, Lawrence and Elliott and may have to pay Cooper. That's where the impact of paying a QB 35-40M a year comes into play.

What are the other teams that have the 30m+ QB's paying their other players? GB, NO and SEA?

The key to this is if you have a Tier 1 QB, you can get by with letting other players walk as long as you keep him upright and with weapons. But paying a Tier 2 QB Tier 1 money as well as that OL, DE, RB and maybe WR Tier 1 money and now that team has a major challenge with the rest of the team and this team is going to see that in having to let their best DB, by far, walk.

Fine.

Anyone who thinks otherwise has an opinion that is not worth listening to, because they clearly aren't paying attention.

We'll see.

I do love absolutes though. you can't run from them.;)

To reinforce another poster's comment:

Tom Brady re-upped with a 2 year, $70MM contract. 70 divided by 2 = 35. I know the math is advanced, but if a commentator wants to be taken seriously, he should at least get some basic facts straight.

Dude is no different than anyone else here. He has an opinion. It's exactly as valid as mine or yours.

He expresses how I feel.

I am not ever phased by minor facts being off like others.

I do not have researchers nor the time to do all that. Or fact check minor mistakes in order to qualify an opinion.

I am just a fan with an opinion like you.

Besides, the video is about Dak..not Brady.

Unless Tom Brady is available as an actual alternative to Prescott, it doesn't really matter what he is making. What matters is the market and the market clearly starts at $32 million for Dak. Dak would easily be the premiere free agent qb if he hit the market (unless Brees or Rivers becomes a FA) so he would for sure get a contract in the ball park of $32 million.

Brady’s 2019 cap number lists as $21,500,000.
The extension raised his salary this year by 8 million then left a 30 million dollar option for 2020 and a 32 million dollar option for 2021 (so full value 70 million assuming he even plays that long)

I don't think people realize how rare it is for a solid QB to hit the open market. When cousins was a free agent in 2018 it had been 12 years since a pro bowl level QB in his prime hit the open market (brees in 2006).

There would be at least 3 or 4 teams that would seriously inquire/bid on Dak if he legitimentaly hit the open market

The Prescott experiment is a failure.
GM Jerry goofed big time when he thought he had found lighting in a bottle with a 4th round comp pick and let a true Franchise QB walk away.
4 years later our offense and esp our passing game against good defense is non-existent and kicking FG is now a way of life for us.
The sooner this FO realizes the above and moves on the better.
Year 5 coming up and I don't know about you guys but since his rookie year Dak is a DUD!
Now you go right ahead and blame the coaching, offline,Zeke, defense, but in the end without a quality QB we are just spinning our Cowboy spurs!
FG anyone?????

P.S. There is bright side so far as they haven't given Dak that new mega-deal and by the looks of things worst case is another year with the tag for him and then he's gone as year 5 will be just like last 4 years.
We found out about Dak when Zeke was suspended.

He was not capable of doing it himself.

He still is not even with Zeke.

So now what?

Do you double down?

Truth hurts doesnt it?

You have made yourself a joke around here. Almost every post you make is followed by someone calling you a troll for a reason.
You don't even try to post anything even a little bit interesting. You offer no insight no objective analysis. You are the definition of a troll on this forum.

I guess if I lacked the ability to intelligently discuss the topics and I needed attention I would also.......................nah. I would just shut up.

You repeat the same garbage over and over. What makes you think repeating yourself makes anything you say more legit?
Your not innocent. Your trolling is on purpose. I doubt you even believe what you type.
lol ouch

The league's highest paid Oline has not played up to their potential. They don't fire out, don't push the pile back but instead get pushed back repeatedly, and definitely, they do not create the same holes for Zeke as they used to years past. Our WRs are leading the league in dropped catchable passes. Let that sink in for a minute. Throw in the questionable play calling, bad situational football decisions and constant drive-killing penalties, well, it's no wonder this offense has struggled to score lots of points at times and lost 6 games.

This is not even including our very problematic Defense. But, hey, I guess it is easier just to blame Dak.
