Please explain to me how it's Jerry's fault? It's the coaches job to prepare and motivate the team to play, and it's the players job to go out and execute. If you're saying that it's Jerry's fault for keeping Garrett as Head Coach, then yes, it's Jerry's fault.

if Jerry truly does not allow him to discipline players or runs a country club atmosphere then it is Jerry's fault. If Jerry DOES allow that but Garret doesn't do it, then it's Garret's fault. now who knows how it works on the inside there?

Garrett simply has no fire. He's too mild mannered. I watched him give a post-game locker room talk to the team, after a win, and he started to choke up while talking about their performance. I don't want a Head Coach that gets misty-eyed after a win. I want someone that gets charged up and celebrates a win.

Or calls them out on mistakes and points out things to improve after a win, guiding them to improving toward a SB run....the time for celebrating is after the SB. Jimmy knew that.

On the sidelines he’s horrible. He doesn’t talk to anyone. What is that?

I meant we want a coach that calls them out on mistakes and points out areas of improvement even after wins.... Garrett doing that?!!? BWAHAHAHAAHAHA

Garrett's an idiot. He's a horrible coach IMHO....but some idiot will give him a shot at some level of coaching.

Coach's Speak sometimes needs to be canned for some real honesty.
Even if said coach has to put their own head under the sword because they realize that they didn't put their talent in enough positions to win the game.
Especially when they have the more talented team...
Think about that.

Sometimes you have to say, "We didn't put guys in the right place and we didn't adjust. Why? I guess we, as a staff, need to do some soul searching for that answer as fast as we can because we have another game coming up.".
In 10 years I cannot recall a single time after a loss that Garrett put the blame on himself. I may be wrong, but I really can't remember it happening even once. That's pretty impressive. 66 times he's been on the wrong side of the scoreboard, and 66 times it was somebody else's fault.

I don't blame Garrett if there are loafers every week. I blame Jerry.
Right... Cuz Jerry is standing on the sideline watching these guys loafing allwhile continue playing them.

P.S. not excusing Jerry for MANY things wrong which includes not firing coaching staff, just stating the obvious

Why are the players loafing still on the team?

Because we can't just cut people, particularly with big contracts.

But we could sit them for a few downs after a loaf. What's lacking is *public* accountability. Obviously whatever within team accountability the team thinks it has isn't working with the loafers.

Garrett will "take responsibility", but never say "I did *that* wrong". Instead, he usually doubles down on his stupidity.

See the recent "we don't need no steenkin numbers during the game" for details.

Yes, you can. And he said this happens every week, so I assume this happened before they got their big paycheck....

Here’s some irony to all this ... I didn’t want to start another thread but ... WHAT IF?

what if after Garrett is fired , gets hired by a new team as HC or OC at the worse and that team wins a Super Bowl before the cowboys win another one ?
To me that would suck .. but it would further support what most of us have known for 20++ years ... it’s not the coaching ... and that sucks because as we all know ... we have no control or ability to change , philosophy , culture and ultimately ownership of our Dallas Cowboys

Jerry doesn't allow Garrett to discipline or otherwise coerce these players into not loafing.

actually Romo on thanksgiving broadcast said. JG does holds the players accountable behind closed doors not in public

professionals making millions don't need motivation, this isn't Hs or College where that is needed. keeping your job is motivation enough.

My Dad used to have a term for Garrett's comments. He called it "coach's speak." The typical canned response when a coach really has no answer to his team sucking. Garrett was out of answers years ago.

No he just never reveals anything.
