Like the guy alot but I have noticed some things about him..

Last night they isolated him in pass plays. At one point they threw at him until they scored.

Each time he was beaten but their QB was inaccurate each time..not Smith providing good coverage.

Jaylon is fine if the offensive player is square up on him, but if the offensive player is going off on an angle..Jaylon has to turn and pursue. He's slow doing this.

He is better when Wolf Hunter is playing. He covers for Jaylon alot.

Also he runs much better going to his right and not left. I assume this is due to his surgery. Do not know.

So as I said..I like him alot but not sure he will ever be a complete lber again.
LVE & Smith need each other, because LVE is good in coverage and Smith is good at blitzing.

Smith is very fast, but he's also always late to the gap, as opposed to Lee or VDE who seem to know right where the ball is going---Lee now often can't make the tackles, but he's there. I rarely see Smith making a solo tackle in space. He is always around the ball, but that's not good enough for the time put into him and the $.

he can not cover any body - he has no lateral movemeni

I assure you Jaylon has not been exposed for anything other than the fact he can’t cover the entire field by himself. I love Sean Lee like the rest of you but the fact is his beat is FAR behind him. Jaylon needs his right hand man Vander Eshe. If he were on the field this thread would not be a thread! Jaylon is a stud. Make NO mistake about it...

It was not just his fault. If Jeff Heath had been present Jaylon would have had the backup he needed. Jaylon can’t do everything alone guys!

Well he definitely had some issues but I wonder if we couldn't protect him a little better if we ran a different scheme ?? Don't get me wrong he definitely has some issues but you have to play to your player strengths and protect their weaknesses we all know how this team deals with that

It absolutely will not stop as long as the defensive alignments dictate him doing the same things down after down.

He is not good enough in coverage to be targeted over and over like he was. Sorry, he's just not.

Plus he is a mentally fragile player. He might be gutsy off the field and power through injury, but he loses his mind when he is placed under pressure.

It is why he runs around like an idiot when he makes a minor stop.

To be fair, every opinion from a fan is an armchair opinion. None of us are playing, coaching or covering the team and game for a living.
Seriously, why is the guy even on the forums in the first place reading any of this? It's a ridiculous statement to make.
