There’s some truth.Stockholm Syndrome
There’s some truth.Stockholm Syndrome
3 of the last 27 Super Bowl winners actually were Jerry Jones.
See how easy it is to cut the numbers off where we want?
So what have the NFL owners who have won the last 23 SBs done compared to Jerry? Here is a list of what they do and don’t do:
WHAT SUCCESSFUL NFL OWNERS DO: (The ones winning the last 23 SBs)
1. Successful NFL owners hire a GM who then hires a HC. The HC is allowed to hire his own staff.
2. The GM is held accountable for results. Usually 4-5 years are considered enough time to prove they can win or at least compete for a championship by making at least a conf championship game.
3. A good GM is sometimes kept for more than one HC tenure, depending on their success or progress.
4. The owner stays out of football operations by letting the guy he hired as GM run that side of the business.
5. If the GM isn’t getting it done in 5 years, it’s usually time for a change and a new GM is hired.
WHAT SUCCESSFUL NFL OWNERS DO NOT DO:
1. They NEVER run the football side of operations. Why? Just look at the last 23 winners of the SB. Not one owner was the GM. Zero. This is certainly an incomplete list.
2. They don’t allow ALL their kids to have jobs with no accountability. If you’re going to have your kids have jobs with the on-field results side of the business, if the team doesn’t win, changes must be made.
3. Successful NFL owners don’t hold post game press conferences because they have hired professional football people to do that and they realize by speaking to the media too much, they undermine their HC and players.
4. They never override a coach’s discipline of players. Owners can state what their values are but let the people they hire discipline the players.
But it is crystal clear: IF YOU ARE AN NFL OWNER, AND WANT TO WIN A SUPER BOWL, THERE ARE SOME DO’S AND DON’TS TO FOLLOW OR YOUR TEAM WILL END UP WITH 24 YEARS WITH 3 PLAYOFF WINS.
Jerry is living proof that money can buy almost everything- position, power, longevity, security, and even a spot in a HOF. But it can never buy respect or results on a scoreboard.Great post Hazey. This kind of rational, factual thread wont sit well w the Jerry apologists who think its "cherry picking" to single out a mere 24 yr slice of history. After all, Jerry is a hof owner and gm.
Agreed. And I think Jerry refuses to fire Garrett because he knows it will be extremely difficult to find another HC that will just sit back and allow him to meddle in everything. Jimmy and Parcells intimidated Jerry. He would rather lose than win with guys that won’t let him play football big shot.Ask yourself this. Why is Jason Garret still the head coach? Why won’t jerry fire him?
Jerry is embarrassed he made a mistake. He also wants Garret to succeed to much that he’ll give him every opportunity until he’s forced out.
jason Garret basically does nothing on game day. Been stripped of all play calling duties. Yet is there so the owner can say “his guy won it all”
as for Moore. Jerry is mad he let Sean Peyton go and is hoping Moore becomes the next Sean Peyton. Defensively he has two different guys and styles trying to run the defense.
Coaching matters - remember how for years JJ ignored the online. Well it’s the same with coaching.
So glad you are satisfied and happy fan with the pitiful results head coach jones has brought our team. Its not that much fun to play in the nfc championship game anyway. You strike me as the kind of fan that is more interested in the wonderful stajum artwork. Yes, lets bask in the great playoff futility of the past 24 years.

You obviously missed these incidents of Jerry overruling his head coach or staff regarding discipline:Jerry has won 3 Super Bowls. How many for the Eagles owner?
Jerry has owned the team 30 years. There are 32 teams. That's 0.9375 wins per team if all teams won the same amount.
Since two team were not around all of those years, lets just say 30 teams over 30 years and each should have won 1 Super Bowl in that time.
Jerry would have on a break-even basis if he had won 1 Super Bowl. In reality he has won 3 Super Bowls.
I don't get the feeling that you researched anything in your post. You're just assuming that other owners don't have their kids involved in the teams..
Does Jerry have post game press conferences every week?
Does Jerry over-rule discipline of players by the Head Coach?
The only story that I know about in that regard is that Switzer hassled Deion about spending more time in the weight room and Jerry said let it go.
Come on Kaiser- you’re a great fan. We disagree sometimes but I appreciate you as a fan. Why can’t opinions just be opinions instead of “whining”? Cowboys fans have a lot of different opinions. But yours or any other’s loyalty should never be questioned."stadium".
I'm the kind of fan that doesn't like to read the same whiney thread posted every twenty minutes, with the same whiney fans chiming in to tell me what kind of fan I am.

Here we go again.
Fail on so many points, as the numbers are far more in favor of owners that have GM's. So of course they have the SB's wins in their favor.
So what happened before the 23 years, when an owner / GM hired a coach and allowed him to hire his own staff, that won 3 SB's? Not going to give him any credit?
Most owners do have family working for them. Just not publicized the way Jerry does it.
So what Jerry has his own shows, interviews. Others do also, but again, not always shown nationally. We see it as fans, as most do not pay attention or get to see all 31 other teams local media or here the talk shows.
I know what you are saying, but this is not a very good way to do it. IMO.
