Twitter: Is Jourdan Lewis overhyped?

They are playing him out of position.
Lewis isn't a slot cover guy.

he should be getting more of Chido's snaps on the edge. Not as big as Chido but significantly better ball skills and a more consistent tackler in run support as well.

JL can play. He's just not being used to his best skillset.

He's better in limited action to limit his exposure. He's better at finding the ball but hes physically limited which hurts him against average QB's who have decent ball placement.

seems like the ones getting beat are Chido, Jones, Woods, Smith, Interior DL. Unless it's s a zone scheme I'm not seeing Lewis get beat man to man often, last week was the exception.

Honestly tiny corners playing on the outside has become a thing of the past.

If he can't play inside he can't play period.

I don't know why it happens, but fans of teams have a tendency of overhyping Player X just to make Player Y look worse than they are.

It kind of makes sense when comparing players from different teams, but I think the majority of the time it is done with two Players from the same team.

As far as Lewis. The guy can make plays. But also is not the biggest or quickest CB out there. If he was as athletic as Brown or as big as Byron, he would probably be that shutdown corner.

As of now though, IMO, he may never be a guy who can shutout everyone he faces every week, but he is capable of making defensive plays that not a lot of CBs can.

He's a guy every team can use even if he is never a superstar.
