It's a little harder without Thomas, Chancellor, Browner and Sherman.

LVE, Woods, Heath, a couple corners got banged up. It just seems around the time that I started seeing quit in the defense along with better teams.

I won’t judge him over the last few terrible weeks without playing from day one.

Lewis has been playing since game one when others were limited in snap count.

Brown played 67% last season as the 3rd CB.

Lewis has played 48% this season.

Honestly tiny corners playing on the outside has become a thing of the past.

If he can't play inside he can't play period.

Awuzie is certainly a bit bigger but I wouldn’t call Lewis tiny by comparison. I would submit that even though he’s a bit smaller he’s a lot better tackler than Awuzie, has more ints in probably half the snaps, and better ball skills

Awuzie is a liability on the back end. If JL has been given his snaps I have little doubt he’d be a better corner at this point.

Meh. By NFL standards he is. By Dallas standards? He may just be our best corner. Then again, our entire defense is/was overhyped, so J-Lew isn't the only one.

JL can play. He's just not being used to his best skillset.

I completely agree that Lewis is not a slot cover guy and should be on the outside. I disagree about Chido though. He was getting picked on earlier in the year but the last few games he has played a lot better. None of the Cowboys DBs make plays on the ball, except Lewis. Lewis takes more risks and plays the ball. A good example is the 30 yard pass from Allen to Beasley on 3rd and 10 from the 2. Lewis tried to undercut Beasley and knock the ball away. It was close and could have been a huge play. But he missed and Beasley caught the ball for a big first down. When Byron Jones leaves via free agency, Lewis should move outside with Chido and Brown should be the slot cover guy.

btw, my prediction for Byron Jones is he will wind up with the Giants and he will get more interceptions there.

i think Jordan would be used and abused that much more if he has to take to being isolated on the outside flank on an island and on that wider space.
He doesn't handle speed well, we saw that when he did take on a starting role his rookie year, we saw it in camp even when going against the speedier WRs
( reports that Johnson, guyton, davis were wearing him out)
the lesser range, field area he has to cover, ..the better i think it works for him.

He's not over hyped, Richard is just too busy being the next Rob Ryan and confusing his own players. This zone is so soft and there are so many holes that teams are running routes that are making DBs pick eachother off. Pay attention this week and count how many times a S or a LB is taking out these CBs and vice versa.
