that’ s not true, it’s great to have those, but they are judged by wins. There are coaches and QBs in the HOF due to wins only.

After 150 career records what are some other comparable records in the NFL?
Is this not a good record for a HC?

It should be way better than that considering how weak our division was in the past when we were going 8-8.

During Garrett's tenure, we should have always been in the playoffs either winning the division or as a wildcard.

To me, it's always been about what type of return a coach is able to extract with a given talent level. A coach who leads a 13 win type roster to 10-6 is doing a poor job. A coach who leads a 5 win type roster to 8-8 has done a great job. The 10-6 record is not inherently better than the 8-8 record as far as the coach's abilities are concerned.

Jason Garrett has enjoyed very good to elite QB play throughout his entire tenure (top 5 QB rating from 2010 to now). All of the other coaches that got similar elite QB play have much more success to hang their hats on than JG. Aside from QB, we've mostly had very talented rosters as well. JG has gotten very little out of the talented rosters this team has had (especially from 2014-2019).

It’s comical how some people grasp at anything to try to convince people Garrett is a successful head coach. It has to be family of his or people looking to stir the pot.

Another thing that probably can't be measured, or at least easily, is the timing of his losses. Feels like anytime Dallas needed to come up big they would show up small under Garrett.

The situation that Garrett inherited was a dumpster fire. We were tight against the cap with a very poor team, and no lines on either side of the ball.

Say what you want about Garrett, but he did well with what he had to start with. He has underperformed in the playoffs but he is an above average coach in the NFL.

I am growing tired of his robotic act, and lack of playoff success but we can do worse.

We may be able to do better, but it’s not a guarantee.

Oh, I certainly don't think it's a guarantee. Not because I think Garrett is anything close to good or even average for that matter - rather because I don't trust Jerry to install someone with the gravitas to make him uncomfortable.

do yourself a favor and look up the post season record for HCs who spend 5+ years with a top 5 QB before you embarrass yourself even more

Marino was an exception because in every category other than Super Bowl wins his credentials were overwhelming. He blew up the record book for QB's, ending his career as the all time leader in passing yards with 10,000 more yards than the next closest QB, and also in TD passes, with 78 more TD's than the next closest guy. Plus he had tons of awards, including a league MVP, and he made the playoffs the majority of his years, including a Super Bowl appearance one year.

By any measure he's just an average head coach.

It's amazing how many people struggle to accept that reality. I guess it's just tough for some Cowboys fans to have to admit their favorite team makes mistakes.

56% win rate. Similar to Ron Rivera's 55%....and somewhere between Marvin Lewis' 52% and Sean Payton's 62%
It's a solid record, but many would say it should be much better....and especially in the post season.
If he had a SB win in there, he'd be in much better shape.

I don't think you can compare his % to someone like Payton. When Payton has a talented team, they only lose a few games a year and are a lock to make the playoffs. He's had 7 seasons with 5 losses or less. Garrett only has done that twice.
