Anyone else to add to Urban, Roman, and Riley list?

Anyone to add to that list?

No retreads is really my only requirement. I don't want some other teams Jason Garrett.

McCarthy is a big no from me. The guy has had Favre and Rodgers and has very little to show for it in a division he was favored in almost every year.

Urban... Great leader but what will X's and O's look like?

Roman... X's and O's will be great but he kinda gives me a Wade Phillips vibe. Maybe not as Golly Gee Wiz as Wade. I could be wrong here though.

Riley.. I just feel like this job may still be too big for him and he hasn't done anything at the College level besides show that he is a fantastic play designer. Also, why would he want to leave that cush job?

He can go beat up on bad teams every year and get a free trip to the playoffs and everyone will praise him for it.

Meyer knows everything going on with his teams. There was a video posted here about his attention to detail on Special Teams. The guy knows his x's and o's. I definitely would look at Rhule. Guy just knows how to build winning programs.

This reminds me of The Who do you want niners or Seahawks thread from last week catch.
I’m going to wait until I see it before I believe it.
then put me down for the urban cowboy

I agree Urban is a more established college coach compared to Riley and might be a better fit. I would even throw Dabo in the mix but he will never leave Clemson unless maybe it is the Alabama job.

We need a tough coach that will clean house and change the attitude from soft to tough. I don't see any college coach lacking NFL experience doing that.

This hire is too important to gamble. We need a hard nosed Xs and Os coach that ain't gonna tolerate playing soft.

Matt Rhule would be a name I’d love to see, though there is the concern that his buyout could pose an obstacle. I don’t believe so, but it’s been discussed here a few days ago.

If Rhule is the guy, a buyout won't stop Jerry.

But I think Riley is Jerry's guy, all the way. There were rumours of it last year, and he kept JG on a one-year leash this year on purpose.

All I’m interested in right now is getting rid of Jason Garrett, because that breaks completely the cultural ties in Jerry’s World. Then there is no emotional attachment vested and Jerry won’t have difficulty changing the next HC if he doesn’t perform.

Were they rumors, or just fans wanting him?
I think it was more of a fan / "local" media speculation.

I think the Rhule thing is also, a few Baylor fans wanting him.

I would add Josh McDaniels. Play design is top notch and he has allegedly been afforded more opportunity on the personnel side than any other assistant since he didn’t take the Colts job.

Somehow got Tebow to the playoffs and beat Pittsburgh.

My other big concern with this team is all 4-3. It makes it tougher to disguise defense.

Sean Payton - signed a new 5 year extension
Urban Meyer - YES YES and YES
Josh McDaniels - No, don't think so
Lincoln Riley - possibly, but I think he may be another Garrett less the clapping
Jim Harbaugh - NO
Dabo Swinney - possibly
Nick Saban - No, he tried and failed, but won't blame him entirely on that, but he is what, 67 now, so no
McCarthy - not so sure, possibly but prefer not
Pete Carmichael - don't know who this is
Robert Salah - don't know him either
Greg Roman - possibly, would not be opposed to it, but don't know a lot about him
Dan Mullen - not so sure about him either, but don't know much about him either
Tony Elliott - same as above
Matt Rhule - don't think so, see him and Riley in the same situation, and not enough experience to truly make that jump to the NFL

Meyer is the true best option here.

no need for a good coach here with Jerry, I agree
He's offensive coach but he is entirely dependent on having the right personnel to do it.

There are like 5 quarterbacks in the league who his offense can work with.

You better be careful...your only requirement should be bringing in somebody in here that won't a puppet..some young hot shot that's just going to get bullied around by Jerry has no chance to succeed in here..
