Has everyone finally come to terms on Dak?

"It's hard to find a QB! So you must stick with mediocrity!" excuse again. lol

my parents used to always say you don’t quit a job until you have another one lined up. It’s seems reasonable to me that the same vein of thinking would apply to Dak as well. If you want to draft a QB to shake things up then by all means do that but it seems you are suggesting that Dak should just be unilaterally fired with no plan in place. I hope that is not what you are suggesting because that would be remarkably, and dare I say, abundantly and obviously stupid. What exactly ARE you suggesting?

Is everyone finally seeing that he's not the elite QB most of thought he was when he initially took over for Romo?

Do we still have some on here that believe he's top 5 or 10. And that anyone who says otherwise is a troll or eagles fan?

He's not the answer, and I pray we don't waste another season or 2 on him before we get it, like we did/ are doing with Garrett.

Cut losses early.

I'm glad he got greedy and said screw that huge extension.

Aikman on this team and with these coaches = not elite. You guys would want to cut him or let him walk. Fickle fans. Dak has a bum shoulder.

...except that analogy doesn't work because there is a contract involved and that contract impacts the cap.

You don't stick with mediocrity, overpay, just BECAUSE it is hard to find a QB. That is stupid. You don't hold your team down in a state of mediocrity because you fear the fact you can't get your guy in the draft.

That's stupid. Try again.

Ok so you’re focused worry is about finances because you have determined that Dak is a no go going forward and you want to leave the team with a giant hole at QB and hope we get a rookie to step in and be better at a bargain rate.

lmao...

Oh no, without Dak....we might not go 8-8 or go out in the divisional round again with a lower draft pick! Oh no! That's not what we have been doing for 20+ years! We MUST overpay for mediocrity because "it's hard to draft QBs"

"lmao"

He had his moments when he looked good, but often enough to pay top dollar.
As I posted early in the season, if you must sign him, offer no more than $45,000,000.00 over three years....$25,000,000.00 guarantee.
Not a penny more.

with who? Replace him with who? a rookie? Rush? A free agent like Mariota? lol..
He was draft in the 4th round. Pick another QB in the draft. See if you can talk NO into letting you have their backup, for example.

What.....you want to over pay him, just because you're desperate?

Lol

F*** it!! Why have a repayment plan in place!!

lol

Brilliant!!!

Well, certainly who cares that he gets picked up as soon as he would be released. He can’t beat anybody.

This is a deep draft class. We went 9-7, 10-6, and 8-8/7-9 the past 3 seasons. What exactly are you thinking we will be losing here? "lol" he's not much better than Mariota. You think Teddy Bridgewater would come in and perform much worse?

Oh no, we might not make it to 8-8 or 9-7 and miss the playoffs! We might go 6-10! Who gives a crap? The only thing perpetual mediocrity gives you in the NFL is middling draft picks. That's it.

Please leave Dak! Prove the haters wrong somewhere else!

Your initial argument was simply poor and ignored the contract and cap side of things. In your desperation of avoiding failure, you are willing to give a good chunk of the cap to a mediocre player that has led us to 9-7, 10-6, and 8-8/7-9 records the past 3 years as if this dude is elevating us.

Your fear of failure hampers any rational thought and you're now spinning. Mediocre/bad teams settle for mediocre/bad players.

It’s going to cost around 30 million, if I remember rightly to franchise Dak for 2020. If I remember right again it’s going to cost another 20% on top of that to franchise him for 2021 so the math is quickly getting beyond the scope of Dallas’ financial strategy regarding the QB position. Iow, the Dak question is to be solved quickly.

imo, we need more data. SD drafted Rivers when they had Brees in a not so dissimilar situation. Granted they let the wrong guy go but nonetheless I’m certainly not opposed to Dallas drafting a QB if they find their guy in this draft. Franchising Dak and paying the franchise tag fee has to be an integral and inescapable part of that strategy though.

He really didn't. He looked good against 3 dumpster fire teams and then got exposed by the Saints.

Tougher competition is why he came back down to Earth. It was a 3 game stretch that got people talking.
I think he even looked better against the better teams...not pro bowl caliber, but better. I believe he did well enough to win some of those games, if he'd gotten some help.

Dak is running the offense Garrett created for Romo in 2007. It literally has not changed. Unlike other teams who install an offense to cater to their QB, we do not. When Romo went down in 2015, every backup ran his exact offense. No adjustments at all.

We are not utilizing his strengths at all.

I'd love to use his shoulder as an excuse, but he was airing it out every chance he got, possibly throwing more long balls in this game than 95% of his previous games. He just wasn't connecting, and a sore shoulder wouldn't explain why he couldn't lead his receivers on shorter throws, then overthrow them on bombs.
