I was shocked that Star Trek (2009) got some good reviews and sold a lot of tickets. I don't see it as "meh"; I find it awful. It's the worst big budget movie I've ever seen. IMO the writers totally failed to research the characters. In basically every scene, the characters behave out of character. Plus, the plot is stupid. They moved the Grand Canyon to Iowa and had Kirk crash a classic 20th Century car into it. What? Then Spock, who only mates once every 7 years has his hands all over Uhura, fondling her. What???? Then Kirk as a cadet commits gross insubordination, but then is promoted straight from cadet to captain. What??? The whole thing is a big, ridiculous mess and is an insult to Star Trek fans. IMO it should have a 0 score on Rotten Tomatoes and should have been universally panned in all reviews. That movie is so bad, I would rather watch Walmart security footage.
I didn't see it but now I kind of want to. I'm one of those "it's so bad it's good" movie watchers. Plus, I worked on a pinball table based on the latest movies so I should probably know what's going on.

I've never even heard of it!!!!

Seriously, though, I'm only interested in entertainment when watching movies. If I want intellectual involvement, I'll read a book.
It was an Oscar nominee for best picture, last year I believe. Movies like that make me think I'm lacking something in sophistication. I probably am but man that was boring. LOL.

I honestly was assuming he was kidding
Some of those are so epic....imo, of course.

I mean, The Godfather? Not good?
To each his own though!
I'm the same way. Mob movies bore me.

I was bored watching The Fast and the Furious. I think everyone else loved it.

Lol shows the difference of opinions on the board. I cant believe some of the movies ive seen listed either.
Many many times I've heard people agree w/ the crowd that so and so movie was good/bad, only to tell me later they really didn't. Happens all the time.

I've never been afraid to go against the grain.

Get these movies that I thought were decent:

Catwoman
Waterworld

Not great, but I thought both were worth watching.

Any James Bond movie.
Finally. Finally! FINALLY!!! Someone else that doesn't foam and drool all over James Bond. Thank you, Runny!
It's a dude in a full body cast talking to a nurse the entire movie. Nothing happens.
My scale for movies thumbs up for good, thumbs down for bad or mention The English Patient for life sucking movies that steal time which you'll never recover. Did you cheer when he pushed all his medicine to the nurse?

I liked the old uniforms though and overall it was entertaining movie, the problem was they made it as a too modern PC movie.
And they didnt understand the characters as they were in the original series. But no one will ever make a movie like the original series.
Even Roddenberry did not do that.

James Bond......... I only like the Sean Connery ones and they are dated now, and the 4 Pierce Brosnan movies are the ones I like,
The rest are meh, and daniel craig bonds, are just boring.

are you talking about the first one or the more recent ones??

I have a mob movie for u that is really different, and found out some things I did not know.
It is a new one called Mob.Town.2019, it is all about the meeting in I think 1957 where a bunch of mob bosses had a meeting and because of one
state policeman who did not like one particular mob guy, whose house they were meeting at lol, wound up getting them all busted but in
a very comical way.
Them getting busted together is what exposed the mafia to the public, and forced hoover to acknowledge it existed.
It is not like other mob movies.
