The Cowboys staff isn't about to put Rush in for Prescott as long as there's the slightest chance of getting a playoff berth. That won't happen. Now, if Dak is still limited for the last game and we're eliminated from playoff contention, maybe they'd consider it but otherwise, it's highly unlikely. The FO would be sure to go with Dak as long as a playoff shot is there and he's physically up to it. Jerry wants Dak and his team in the playoffs, first and foremost.
Philthy and Dallas both play the late afternoon game Sunday, so Dallas couldn't know they've been eliminated until their game is over. Now if Dak is seriously limited due to injury, that would be another story, but I doubt he's any worse off than he was last week, so he'll play.

Along with a new coaching staff, it's time to cut bait on Dak, Cooper and a couple of OL which are beginning to age poorly. Time to rebuild the offense in now at hand. We have seen the present and they ain't going to make a SB runs soon!

If Dak is Healthy and a playoff spot is viable, he should play. If not, lets put in Rush to evaluate against a first team defense.

He has an AC Joint sprain.

Not healthy.

They will give him a local before and at halftime to block the pain.

im so peaved at Dak right now after supporting him for 3 years and hoping for his success only to have him have another month stretch of bad football like 2017..UGHH!!

doesnt matter how we win on Sunday because the Eagles more then likely will blow out NY and its over anyway..let dak further show why hes not worth what hes demanding..Dak cost us that game in the 2nd half and now the eagles are in full control.

The NFL purposely moved our original 12pm start for this game because they wanted both teams to not know their fate before they played..

they want both teams to plays to win for ratings..if not Rush would start if we saw the eagles win or vice versa...the nfl wants the stars to play and they will get their wish..both teams need a win..both their opponents do not, so that bad for us..

Since it's extremely hard to find a viable QB and Dak has moved the ball well at times, wouldn't you be interested in seeing if a better coaching staff could tweak some things to see if we can't be more adequate at scoring?

I think the mechanical problems he had 3 years ago are still nagging his performance. Why invest 200million in a guy that is never going to be a SB winner. He plays well against lessor teams but, wilts against teams we just have to beat. He's always going to be limited IMVHO.

Time to move on from Dak. Jerry needs to jump out ahead of all the off season drama of the “to pay Dak or not Pay Dak BS.”

Move on. Let’s make it about football around here and not who gives good interviews. We will not get a good coach to come here if the worse player on our offense is the highest paid player on the team. The new coach is going to want to draft his guy or bring the free agent of his choice at about $9-10 million.

So why not go ahead and end the Dak offseason Saga and let Cooper Rush get a chance. Hell, might even find out he is capable enough to make the easy throws Dak gets praised for. Might find out if he is good enough to keep around to be the backup next year.
Why not?
Lets see what we got!

I can see logical reason for starting Rush now that the season is over. But to do so because it is time to move on from Dak, in hopes that the Rush era can start, is not one of them. We got a like button, and I'm not suggesting a dislike button, but sometimes a  button would be useful ;) where people could add to the facepalm value.

Lmao. The entire defense and special teams are much bigger issues. Coaching. GM/owner. Also, Dak is operating from the 2007 Tony Romo offensive playbook Garrett installed. It literally has not changed one bit. How about creating an offense that caters to your QB? Nope. Not our franchise.
Line up, beat your man.

That stubbornness sound familiar?

Quarter century of Jerry's way.

Not reading this entire thread to see if this was mentioned, but this isnt the first time Jerry's kids were caught without a decent backup.

Brad Johnson....Brandon Weeden.

No backup cost you seasons, but hey, who is smarter than those Jonses yes??

Oh I agree, no way we should pay him that. I'm talking about offering him a 3 yr 30 mil contract, and if he doesn't take it, franchise tag him.

You would have to be BOTH a Dak hater and an absolute moron to go through with the OP's plan. Even if you think that Dak can't play in the NFL; you HAVE to understand that he is still a valuable asset in trade and that some team will compensate you for him. Ideally, even if both conditions are true (hater and moron); you want to SHOWCASE Dak in order to enhance the possibility of getting up to TWO first round picks for him.

Personally, I like Dak and I think that he has progressed a lot since he came into the League. I wouldn't be upset at all if we resigned him. But having said that, if I could get TWO 1st round picks for him, I would take it. That is true for any player on the team.
