Dak, Kellen, and selfish play

IMO... I think Dak and his buddy Kellen Moore prioritized getting gaudy passing stats this year in order to strengthen Dak’s bargaining position.

Of course— they assumed the wins would flow if he threw the ball well.

So— they have tried to make this “Dak’s” team and have not relied as much on Zeke. We have won when we have run the ball well. That is who we are.

Instead of doing what is best for the team in 2019 and building this identity around Zeke— I believe Dak and Kellen wanted to showboat and showcase their “awesome” passing attack to leverage better contracts for themselves.

Speculation of course— and yet, human nature being inherent selfish, and the results and stats being what they are— I think this is the kind of “hero” ball that has sabotaged this season

This all started when Zeke held out. That changed the whole dynamic of the offense.

Against weaker teams there was enough talent to dominate. Against better teams they struggled.

15 games into the season, it's clear the offense needs to get back to what they are, a run first team.

Zeke is the key to the offense not Dak. To try and make Dak into a pocket passer like brees or brady is the final nail in the coffin. He can not carry an offense like the former even surrounded by a dominant OL, premier RB, and good recievers

It's as simple as that.

We must get Zeke going early and have Dak extend plays with his legs like their rookie season

All moore has done is show that he is not capable of winning the tough games. He is over his head and needs to get the boot with JG. Losing the Philly game and, most likely, the conference should be the last two nails in his coffin. Jerry sent a kid out there and he was schooled.

This locker room is clearly divided. Stories from the defense being divided (Richard philosophy vs Marinelli philosophy), conspiracies about the O-line purposefully run blocking badly for Zeke due to him holding out, now conspiracies on Dak and Kellen trying to get his stats up to make him look better than what he is. If all of this is true, blow it all up. This team is selfish and arrogant as can be.

Yup The Rams game showed the blueprint on how we could win. Zeke, Pollard, Jarwin were all making an impact.

How does an occasional unsubstantiated theory put out by a poster on this site equate to divisions in the locker room?

This reminds me of the conspiracy theory I heard back in 2012.
Jerry Jones is a reptilian hell bent on generating negative emotions from all of the Cowboys fans by constantly producing mediocre teams and mediocre coaching staffs. Apparently the reptilians feed on negative emotions, it's their food. It's the only valid explanation for why we've not sniffed a SB in 25 years.

No division in locker room
Lots of talent
Great coaching staff

I think we would have relied more on Zeke if run blocking was better and Zeke did more with the ball.

So— you think my theory is absurd. Well, you should look at some facts.

1. Dak has an outside chance to set THE ALL TIME franchise record for passing yards in a season. But we will finish no better than 8-8.

2. Dak can change play calls like Romo depending on the look he gets... AND HE THREW 44 TIMES on Sun. And we did not score one single TD. Do you not think it possible that maybe, just maybe— Dak wanted to be the guy to win the game and carry the team with a bum shoulder?

3. Follow the damn money. Dak and Kellen both stand to make millions of dollars if Dak produces as an elite QB and Kellen is the next wunderkind passing coordinator.

This is not rocket science. And it’s not a far fletched theory. Dak thinks highly enough of himself to ask for 40 million per year. You don’t think he came into this season dead set on proving to the world he is worth that investment?

How does he prove that if the offense revolves around Zeke and he is known as the “straw that stirs the drink” instead of Prescott? Lotta money on the line.

Kellen gets credit for offensive success, not for passing yards. And one thing Dak has never shown is selfishness, not to mention he also gets graded on winning.

This is a passing league... Running games aren’t as sexy as passing stats and fancy schemes in this pass happy league. It’s not like this is some huge mystery. They have gone away from the run in a number of games this year— even when it was working. Why?

Most recently— with your QB’s shoulder hurting— Elliott gets 13 carrier. 13!! Why? While Dak throws 44 times?! Cmon.

Dak not being selfish? Not sold on that yet. Demanding a huge contract he has not earned. He has no issues promoting himself— albeit with a “good guy” “team first” PR image. He is no idiot— he knows exactly how to market himself as the face of America’s Team.

Don’t just listen to what he says. Watch what he does. Aikman knew the offense went through Emmitt and he sacrificed the stats he could have had to stick with a winning formula. We know what has worked with this offense. Zeke and this OL are the strength of the roster.

Do you honestly believe— in Dak’s contract push year— that it is a coincidence that he is about to break the all time yardage record and Zeke has disappeared from some gameplans?!

Takes way more faith to believe that than it does to believe Dak is looking to pad his stats to land the biggest contract he can this offseason.

And maybe that dynamic has led to a few more losses and an identity crisis this year.

This is a winning league. If a team has 5,000 passing yards and doesn’t score points and ends up with a 7-9 or 8-8 record it does not get credit for being successful.

Ironically when that franchise record was set by Romo in 2012, we went 8-8. Common denominator for both seasons is JG.
