Slater on the radio:
- She talked to a player about what happened this season he told her they wilted under the high expectations coming into the season. They couldn't handle the pressure.

that’s because they suck, the coaches all suck, the owners suck, and the entire organization sucks.

Aside from that, things appear to be going well.

I am afraid the only answer to fixing this team is for Jerry to hire a new coaching staff and to step away from the microphone. I expect, if they lose today, he will hire a new coach, but the problem is he is not going to step away from the microphone. Jerry is who he is and will remain this way until he is too old and frail to continue. He is George Steinbrenner without the pride that drove him to get a winning team on the field no matter what.
He is not Steinbrenner.

He's Al Davis. The crazy version with the jumpsuit.

I listened to the same podcast. I'm surprised you didnt mention anything on the segment of Zeke blowing off the media. No doubt Garrett is the main problem, but anyone who thinks these players dont have a crappy attitude of entitlement and are in need of serious change are only fooling themselves. Demarcus Lawrence, Jaylon Smith and Zeke are at the top of the list. The sad part is they all just got paid.

- She said she gets the sense there are not enough guys on the team that "want it". A lot of guys who are going thru the motions. She mentioned guys like Bennett, Cobb, Dak, and Gallup as the type of guys they need more of. (Notice the players she mentioned...two vets from other teams)
This year was a departure as they did bring in veterans from other winning teams and I am sure that was disturbing to the regulars when they started talking about how the culture in that building was just wrong.

Doesn’t matter. This team isn’t talented enough to overcome anything.
If they need more talent, so do all the other teams in the playoffs.

The issue is culture. The issue is being a smart organization that is committed to winning football games instead of being "relevant" and being the top "brand" in the league.

No team assembles talent enough to overwhelm everyone. That has been Garrett's struggle all along.

Signing Bennett was the best thing this front office did all year. While he certainly has his faults as a player, his professional attitude towards the game and desire to win exposed a lot of what's wrong with this team.
I hope we get rid of the unmotivated players and keep bennett around to lead the younger players. Hes one of those guys that has an edge and knows what it takes to win games. I like that he called out our selfish stars earlier in the season. It does reveal much that is wrong with the culture of this team.

Bottom line......the ONLY one that can change the entire scenario is not willing to do what it would take to fix it.....and he knows that

Terrible owner
Jones appears to be an insecure man which apparently corresponds to his unwavering stubbornness and failure to do the right thing. He will not give in now. It would reveal his true self which is a thin skinned man who never got over others getting credit for their past success.

It’s really kinda stinks to be a Cowboys fan and know that history will just keep repeating itself.

Slater on the radio:

- Apathetic feeling in the locker room this week. On The Break they said there's been a depressed feeling in the building the last month. Not only from players but all Cowboys employees.

- She said she gets the sense there are not enough guys on the team that "want it". A lot of guys who are going thru the motions. She mentioned guys like Bennett, Cobb, Dak, and Gallup as the type of guys they need more of. (Notice the players she mentioned...two vets from other teams)

- Also mentioned serious friction between the coaches throughout the season. She didn't feel comfortable going into details until the season ends.

- She said there were young players who were thrust into leadership roles that weren't ready for it.

- She talked to a player about what happened this season he told her they wilted under the high expectations coming into the season. They couldn't handle the pressure.
Ahhhhhhhh, it's apparent the players need some group counseling since it's all their doing. Perhaps some of those tearful JG pep talks and a few group hugs from JJ will get them through this last game? Since a few zone posters and players think the losing and sadness is all the fans fault, perhaps we fans send sympathy cards and emotional support kittens for them to get over their "depressed feelings".
This org from the top down (with the exception of a few real players) are all clowns.

I'm getting the sense this is not going to be a quick fix for the next coach. He's going to need to destroy and rebuild the culture here which is going to take a couple of years.
Sounds like what people claimed Garrett had to do after Wade got fired.
