With the nature of everything right now, consider this just a rumor. We already know how accurate tweets have been so far in this saga.

If fired, Jerry has to pay every cent owed. This is just Jerry being a businessman and getting something for his money.
How much does a ST coach make?
Can’t imagine it’s much more than rowdy makes

Probably. Its also the Peter Principle, rising to your level of incompetence doesn't mean you weren't good at something. Marinelli and Linehan were horrible HCs but good coordinators. OQuinn should have been fired at midseason but its probably getting something out of his contract like you say.

Well, he can’t be worse at anything than he was a special teams coordinator. So, ehh. I’d rather trust him at a Walmart cashier station than evaluating player talent for my favorite team, but oh well

Appears he’s been here 9 yrs
I didn’t even know who he was but he came in as a scout and I guess he impressed someone enough to think he could be ST coach
Walmart wouldn’t want him, he’d miss the shelf he was stocking

You're not wrong.

He stubbornly insisted on being in charge of all things football and spent the last 28 years of his life not winning a championship. The difference is that he at least made it to 3 AFC championship games and 1 Super Bowl in that time. Jerry hasn't sniffed an conference championship game in 25 years.

Might actually be a positive sign. Owners sometimes have a person on the staff, for whatever reason, that is more or less their pick (I realize Jones has chosen others on the staff, but I mean this in a different way. Maybe a conduit. Maybe just someone, for whatever reason, they want employed. Maybe this is a sign Jones will let the next coach choose his own staff. So he moves his guy back to scouting, where maybe he was more competent.
