Clemson readily admits they played poorly and made many uncharacteristic (and some unforced) mistakes in the first half last night. Dropped pick 6 etc.
But Ohio State was for real and by far the best team they'd played. They could've put it away possibly with more redzone effectiveness.

#1 and #2 ranked defenses in the county. Hard hitting game.

LSU will face the best D they've seen all year and one of the best offenses as well.
Clemson will face the best offense they've seen and one the best offenses possibly in years. The LSU defense? Not at all on par with Ohio Date, but still playing well lately.

Should be a battle, but I see why LSU is favored playing basically at home.

I've said all along....the top 3 could be interchangeable. Last night proved at least 2 and 3 were.

The LSU QB is really impressive. He'll be a big factor IMO.

Heisman trophy winner, so yes!

I think eh better pro prospect is Lawrence, but Burrow is completely dialed in and playing near perfect football right now.

LSU isn't invincible though. Texas, Florida, Auburn and Bama all played them pretty tight.

Burrow looks every bit the part of Tom Brady. Its uncanny. Trevor Lawrence looks like Payton Manning with much better wheels. That kid can run.

Prediction: LSU 46
Clemson 38

I'll be shocked if Clemson goes to New Orleans and beats LSU. They got very lucky last night. I thought OSU was the better team most of the game.

Okudah would look great in our secondary.
Odukah is a local kid.
OSU was loaded with kids from Texas.
UT and OU should be slapping themselves for those recruiting losses.

LSU has looked like the best team in college football consistently and played a very tough schedule.

Clemson is very talented but LSU in New Orleans by 20 imho.

OSU-Clemson is interesting. Clemson isn't battle tested. The best team they played this year was Texas A&M in week 2. They are shell shocked.
Guess they recovered.
Great game

Just curious; Haven't looked it up, but did you think Alabama would blow out Clemson in the title game last year?

Clemson needs to play better to beat LSU.
Certainly didn't play their best game vs Ohio State.
Adjusted well (DC Venables is great) and they DID manage to win.
1st half belonged to Ohio State, and 2nd half belonged to Clemson, for the most part.

Clemson is better than what they showed....and will need to be vs LSU.

Well, the Big 12 hadn't won yet in the post season (0-4) until tonight.

Nice game by Texas vs a really ugly looking (and uninterested?) Utah team.
Blowout, baby!
Reminded me a bit of last year when Georgia was so disinterested after losing their hope to make the Playoffs in their last game.
But credit due to the Horns---that's two years in a row the coach has had them very ready to play for their bowl.

Texas didn't win because those two teams were uninterested. Texas beat them because they were the better team on the field that day.
Don't cheapen our victories./

Did I say Texas won because of that?
No, I didn't.

Just because those teams were flat or disenchanted (obviously) doesn't mean they should've won for sure normally.
The games were blowouts.

Only Texas fans get bent outta shape when someone makes the effort to complement them on a win, but does so in a sober and honest manner vs groveling.

Jeesh, sorry.

Btw, I generally pull for UT

Yeah, no reason to cheapen meaningless wins. Its redundant.

Georgia and Utah were highly ranked teams that the Longhorns beat. Not meaningless .

It was meaningless to the highly ranked teams who just missed the playoff. Big win for Texas though. We see this happen all the time in these meaningless bowls. Thats how Florida A&M beats iowa State. You think that game meant anything to Iowa St?

Agree Hardy. Bowl games are every bit as much a part of a meaningful season as a September pre-conference game, Homecoming, Senior Day, or the Conference Championship game. They count towards the win-loss record and the stats are considered valid for both the team and individual players.

If bowl games keep being described as meaningless exhibitions, it's only going to lead to more players skipping them. Furthermore, if players start to get used to the idea of leaving the team, why wait for the bowl game? Why would they bother to play the last regular season game if "nothing is on the line"? Maybe skip out in November if the weather is crappy? Or even cash out of the last half of the season once their team has been eliminated from the conference champion or national title races?

College football is the most intriguing sport there is. Let's keep it that way for ALL the fans. Long Live Bowl Games!!

With that said, it's a no brainer on who will win
the National Championship, Alabama. Oh wait....:lmao2:
