The fact will hear something Thursday is actually media/fan-driven. Jerry/Fo hasn't promised anything. But I do think this would further push the candidate in the playoff theory. My point is don't be surprised there's no news tomorrow or even Friday.

I'm still not sure how to reconcile Glazer's report on Sunday that Red's contract would end today and others' assertions that it ends on the 14th.

Having said that, I'm still not sure why people keep talking as-if it matters to this situation. There is no reason for "talks" at all with Red, if all that Jerry is trying to accomplish is to string this out... rather, he would simply string it out, period. He has no obligation to make it look like there's something going on.

So, I remain one of the many persuaded that there is something going on, and that there are legitimate reasons for these talks, and that it's either Red trying to sell Jerry on letting him remain head coach, or Jerry trying to sell Red on taking another position of some kind... or both are doing both of those things simultaneously.

his contract doesn't expire until Jan 14th. Jerry doesn't need to do a thing until then.

The longer this goes the more and more I believe they are trying to figure out a way to bring him back as HC.

There really is no reason to not announce now that they are going in a different direction for their HC if that’s truly what they want to do.

So at this point, if this drags beyond the weekend and into mid to late next week, there is little doubt at that point that they are trying to save Garrett.

Maybe Jerry is handling things like that guy from Office Space. He hopes Garrett will simply leave when he stops getting paid.
