Gentlemen, RELAX. Clap and be happy. Carrot is Kaput. It’s pretty obvious what happened. First meeting, Jerry told Carrot he will not be coach and offered him front office job. Carrot considered it overnight and they had the second meeting where Carrot said he didn’t want front office. This made it clear there was no need for third meeting and they each stuck to their position. Hence, Jerry didn’t want him as coach and Carrot didn’t want front office so he will not be part of the organization moving forward. Jerry let him fire himself and they told Werder the outcome last night.

He's not fired... He's just not being renewed nor is he being offered another position in the organization.

Again, at least according to this report...

There really is no reason to fire him

85-67 is not what I’d describe as a crappy record . In fact it’s the 2nd winningest HC in Cowboys history. Yes, much like Landry is due to longer tenure but none the less his record speaks for itself.

Depending on the argument fans spin the same record for Dak in last 4 years that many tout is same for Jason which is one of the best in NFL. From 2016-2018 three year span only the Patriots won more games.

In the end the fact there wasn't more playoff success was what did him in.

But if your comparing Jason to his Cowboy recent peers as in Wade, Bill, Campo And Gailey then Garretts era wasn’t a total failure. It simply didn’t meet expectations. Which apparently we have become a championship or Bust franchise.
